I would work the SS deal and see if the guy goes for 15,000. It was a lot better car plus it wasn't a repo.

Just heard about a 94-95 TA with custom paint job and some performance mods for around $10,000. It has an auto.

It is located close to here. I am going to check it out Friday after work, probably. I am getting all of the info on it today (Thursday). I hope I like the color. It is suppose to be a 16 layer paint job. One of those paint jobs that change colors as you walk around it. Sounds kinda funky to me, but the guy who knows the person selling it says it is sweet looking. I guess I will find out Friday. It already has two strikes against it, Trans Am and Auto. How strong are the autos in these cars? I heard tthey have a lot of problems with them.

For the 1/4 mile and city they rock.
But if you plan on doing any extended high speed or spirited driving , get the biggest tranny cooler that you can fit in front of your radiator. High tranny oil temps are deat h on an auto.

Thanx Roy, I only have 9 months left over here, most of which is winter. Who knows where the AF will send me next, but I know that I only have 1 year and 9 months left in the military when I leave here. I plan on going back to Phoenix, Arizona to live. So it will be a lot of city driving and 1/4 mile, but it will be hot as hell also. If I pick this car up, I will probably put a tranny cooler on it before I move to Phoenix.
I have a lot more questions about this car, but I will post then in the LT1 forum. Me Newbee, no know to much bout big V8 Cheby. Thanx.

Like Roy said. Keep up on fluid and filter maintenance and a good aftermarket cooler.

I'm running an M6 now, but I had a '95 Z28 'vert with an auto in Vegas. I used to Autox and and a little bit of drag. I had an aftermarket cooler mounted and never had a problem, even in the heat of Vegas.

Hey, are you talking about Mark in Binsfeld? If so, I'm confident it was maintained good. I personally would stay away from the auto.

Why would you stay away from the auto, personal preferance?
So I take it you have see the car? How do you like the paint job? Is it to wild?

Well the TA in Binsfeld is Canadian specs. Everything is in kilometers. The paint was sweet though. Plus he said he wanted $12,000 for it. So if anyone is interested in a 94 TA in very good condition, but not American specs, I can tell ya were to go to get it.
On a side note I finaly received an e-mail from the owner of the 97SS in Mainz Kastel. So the negotiations have started. Hopefully it will work out, but I'm not planning on this guy coming down on the price very much. I guess I will see when he calls or writes back. And of course there is the orange/red repo TA in Mainz Kastel, to fall back on. I will be checking with my credit union up here to see what the procedures are to post a bid on it. Peace.
