I can never seem to find anyone to race me. Besides you guys/girls. Even when I had my Civic, word got around real quick that I had put a supercharger on it and no one would race me. Now I have the SS and I know the weather has sucked the last couple of weeks, but still there isn't anyone. I thought people would be reving at me and trying to get me to race them so they could race a SS. I think it is the area, no street lights to stage up at. Anyway just wondering if it is Germany as a whole or just the area I am in?
This is my first poll so I hope I did it right

I think it has to do with the ram air. I have talked to many people who say they have raced F-body this and F-body that, but when I ask them to race it is, no way you will smoke me..... I think the ram air gives the intimidating look. Little do they know it is not that much of a difference.... Oh well..... I am sure in Georgia I will get plenty of races.... Gotta get those DR's...

Yes, I think it is just Germany. The road system here does not favor street racing ie. cobblestone, 2lane roads, curve within 1/8 mi ect.
Ram air shmam air, pull ol'snorkel face next to the "Sliver Bullet" and you'll get a race.
Hell if there werent cars' I'd footrace.
I hear that the general consensus it that a Good cold air kit is better than ram-air, how much I do not know, just somthing I heard.

Agreed, Ram Air is not that much of a difference, unless it is a sealed unit thus creating a few 1 or 2 lbs of boost up top...... I was referring to the intimidation people seem to have of the Ram Air. Thats all....

Well, I can't get people to race me. I don't even have ram air. Even though the SS ram air in the LS1 isn't really that efficient, but I am lacking it and I offer to race and people back off.
With the exception of Scott and Howie. I don't think I would have anyone to whoop up on.

I think we are different than most people? I think it is our demeanor (slightly cocky) when we talk about cars. Now I have had some 4/6 bangers rev up @ a stoplight Non American with no idea what they were playing with It gets ugly after that. I agree with George except all F-bodies look mean the ram air just a bit more. I wish I had my setup in a station wagon an then I bet you could fine people to race.

Same hear Ryan. People didn't even look my way when they heard. Kinda just backed away like it smelled like @ss or something. Maybe the deep thunderous borla had something to do w/ it.

If my car sounded like yours I would understand. But mine still sounds like a sewing machine.

A lot of people have had a rash of bad luck in the club lately. That really sucks. I'll race you in my 84 audi. Or we can wait until next spring. You guys are right though. No one really wants to race. You get some cars on the autobahn sometimes that get confident. I usually break that confidence quickly.

I agree also, I was also thinking of the intimidation factor. I just thought people would try to get me to race to see what my car could do because a friend of mine with a 99 Mustang GT said that everyone try's to get him to race by revving at him. You guys/girls need to think differently. We are into are cars. Most people aren't and that is why it is so hard to find someone to race. We know cars and what most are capable of stock or even with a few mods, but most people buy a car to get from point A to point B.
As for the autobahn, I never know if they are racing or not. The Germans always seem to drive like they are racing and then when they hit a certain speed they stop. When I had the Honda there was a German BMW M3 and he was driving fast and aggressive, but he wouldn't go faster than 140 mph. so I smoked his *ss, after that of course. Then there was a different time there was a German BMW M5 and he just tore my *ss up. I was like.....I wasn't trying to race him, because that is just what it looked like. He went by me like I was at a stop light changing CDs. So I never know when I am on the autobahn, except for today I definetly knew that the Camaro in the other lane wanted some. And I think he took all that he wanted because I couldn't do a d*mn thing about it. But like I said before we will see in the future because now I know what I need to do. Peace

Quote: You smoked his ass @ 140 MPH with a Honda?
Yes, I am not a sh*t talking lier. If there is one thing you will learn about me it will be that I DO NOT TALK SH*T!!!! and I hate people who do!!! I have a photo of my speedo burried past 145mph. My car was a 99 Civic Si. I put a Jackson Racing SuperCharger and a shat load of suspension and other mods on it(total $6,000). The car would bounce off of the rev limiter in 5th gear and when I calculated the speed it was 152.8 mph. I bounced it on several occations. The wife was in the car on time and she car verify (I don't think she will ever forget it because she wasn't very happy about it, we were racing a Jetta VR6 on the Banh back from ramstein). That is the reason I sold it and bought the SS. I spent so much money just to make the Civic keep up with other stock cars. Now I have a car that when I put the money into it will stomp most other stock cars!!!

Just so you know there are people in this club who talk $hit. I am one of them. The other guy is Bruce (Hawk). The thing is he can back it up. I've seen it personally. As for me, I will be there next year. Hey it's all about having fun with the cars.

I talk moderate Shi7 and I can't back Shi7 up right now so I figure I'll still keep talking shi7 to keep my self high spirits. Look at how many times I wrote shi7 can you believe that shi7. I'm really writing the word shi7 an awfull lot writing the word shi7 is pretty addictive.
What do you guys think about having beater car races. We can also have a contest to see whos car stays running longer when shut off. I think I may have everyone beat in this category.
