I just went and got it. Yeah, it's hokey in alot of places, but it's fantasy. That's what movies are about. Look at Smokey and the Bandit. You know how many mistakes there were in that movie. Or who ever watch Knight Rider or The A Team or Dukes of Hazzard. They were all far fetched. If you could really do that stuff and get away with it, don't you think everyone would, then we wouldn't need movies.
But I would disagree with the import thing in alot of the movies. Gone in 60 seconds wasn't an import movie really.
But each to their own.
Who thought Lord of the Rings was a good movie?

The movie is pretty good, but they deviated from the story a bit on a few things.

Don't you think that doing 160 through city streets is not so much fantasy as recklessly stupid as it encourages pea-brains to think it's possible and acceptable. It also educates 14 year olds into truly believing that you really can make a car accelerate so fast it would (in reality) rip it's suspension off and go careering into a wall. This film is totally irresponsible and endorses the bad driving we see from the hot hatch idiots. Sure, Gone in 60 Seconds is equally ridiculous but no-one's going to copy that jump and the oversteering chase through the streets is partially fact-based and not totally outlandish. You also need a '69 Mustang to emulate the chase, not a tarted up Civic. Anyway, did anyone notice that Nicholas Cage took all that time to break into the car and yet when he's driving round, the passenger door lock is clearly up so the door was open all the time. Ha!

Actually you need a '67 shelby GT500.

In order to cover that terrible gaff, I shall say, yes but as you can't get a 67 Shelby, you'd need a more widely available 69 Mustang. I would then seek to justify myself by saying none of the cars used were Shelbys so I was right all along when I think about it.

IM STICKING WITH MY FIRST OPINION THE MOVIE WAS A PIECE OF SHI$. I would have rented it but they didn't have it on the shelf and I wanted to see it so I said what the hell it can't be that bad. As you all know it was bad and completly geared towards making a 4cyl look faster than a hopped up V8. I personnaly think this movie promotes those little bastards that hang out in places like Fayettville NC and just cause trouble when they race you and you beat them. I know everyone has there own opinions when it comes to movies I just didn't care for it at all that's why I'm selling it.
Here's a question for everybody???? Did Days of thunder or Gone in 60 seconds have a warning at the begining of the movie. The answer is NO! So what i'm thinking is the movie people must have known they'd be dealing with a bunch of retarded people who think there 4cyl is faster than a pro dragger, and that there cars can do just about anything. They were also promoting NOS!! like it would make your car so fast you could travel back in time. Oh well what can you do but bit$# about it.
Just to let everyone know before people start getting nasty. I'm not calling anyone on the board retarded or making fun of you for wanting to buy it.

In gone by 60 seconds you simply disarm the Alarm system of a $250.000 Lamborghini by cutting 1 wire which is just hanging underneath the dashboard (what a coincidence !), yeah right !
Another terrible movie.

I thought driven was sorta ok but not great. I would definatly rate it a lot better than the Fast and Furious.
I still think the movie of all time which I watch on a dailey basis is Days of Thunder. This is a movie that truly inspires me to drive. And as far as 60 Seconds it's an unrealistic movie but I thought it was 30 times better than the ricer film. Just my opinion. I guess when making a movie about cars it's kinda hard to make one that's totally non fictional. The Fast and stupid was just straight up retarded!!!!!!!!!

I liked Driven too. For once, Stallone only lapsed into playing Stallone once in that "You'll have to go through me" scene. The F1 street race was pretty stupid and spoilt the film. The crash into the river and the lack of safety facilities was laughable and I imagine Michael Schumacher was less then impressed by the transparent portrayal of him.

I thought the slow and delirious was the shat.!!!
But the best all time car chase movie is Bullitt starring Steve McQueen.
