Someone posted a link here on http://www.LS1.com .

I didn't even know they exported F-Bodies to England.

How much does a Z-28 cost there?

I would say 70% of the board members are all in either the Army or the Air Force. The better members are in the ARMY the Air Force people slack off to much. J/k :)

If I had to guess, I'd say a fully loaded Z28 in GB would be about GBP-16-20K

According to some of the German guys there paying around 60 to 70,000 DM witch would be around $35,000 Us dollars. They do pay quit a bit more than us do to the import charges.

Well, the price of a Z28 with all options/fully loaded is (or better "was" as it isn't sold as 'new' anymore AFAIK) about 67000 DM, that's $30400. However, that's the list price. If you talk to the dealer you should be able to lower this price to about 58000-60000 DM without any problems, that's $26400-$27300. E.g. I bought mine for about 52500 DM / $24000.

Ben

Camaro in the UK is around £23000. Cheapest V8 car on the market. It's made the LS1 more widely available since they started selling them here but Chevy are pulling out this year as the Camaro will be no more and the C5 sales are nothing to write home about. Both are fantastic cars but not entirely suited to UK roads. I suppose most drivers in the UK look for cars with razor sharp handling, enough power and reasonable economy so tend to go for things like Subaru Imprezas if they want a performance car. They labour under a misapprehension that American cars must cost a fortune to run when in fact the parts and servicing are reasonable and the economy is just as good as any other car offering this type of performance.

Hi McRat
The Z28 in the UK is very rare. Here in Newcastle people stop and stare. they don't have a clue what it is.
The Z28 is the most BHP/£ you can buy in the UK.
Awesome.

Just been on UK Autotrader. There's a red 2001 fully-loaded Z28 with 700 miles on it for just under £19000, saving just under £4000 on the list price. Tempting. We have an odd phenomena here in the UK. You get a lot of depreciation initially but then it slows right up so a 93/94 is still
£6-7000. The cheapest LS1 I've seen was probably my '98 for £10500 but you still get sellers trying to sell 96/97's for £12000 or more. The SS's generally don't make it except by way of import. You can't buy one from the dealer. There's an optimistically priced SS with 69k on the clock going for £16000!Although Chevy have now pulled the plug on the UK market, there are enough specimens here to provide a choice when buying second-hand. Regrettably, we now have a ridiculously vindictive SVA test introduced in 1997 or thereabouts which was designed to stop cheap Japanese imports flooding the market and undercutting the Japanese dealers but what applies to them had to apply to all imports so any Yank import under 10 years old now has to submit to this foolish test and be modified to English law. This can be very expensive. A new loaded Trans Am WS6 is advertised at £32000 which is too much as a Corvette is only £35000. The result is that LS1 Trans Ams are like hen's teeth and will remain so and there's just no point to importing the SS over the standard Z28 although, again, the same company does have them occasionally for £30000.

Doh.

What is 30k pounds in € ????

I´ll sell my Z28 in August probably as i´m switching to 2nd gen + family car.

will sell the car for about 15k €uro. with approximately 30k miles on it. It´s a loaded z28 A4 in black with T-Tops.
As it already is Euro Spec you should be able to take it. Only guess is the steering might be on da wrong side ;-(

Oh yes: First registered in 08/2000, chrome rims.

Greetz,

R@M

I think the current Euro exchange rate is about 1.56 so 46800 Euros to the £30000.
It would make Rampage's '00's retail over here about £9600 which is really, really cheap. A friend of mine just bought a 2000 with 14k on the clock for £15000. I paid £10500 for my '98 with an SES light that cost £220 to extinguish and 51k on the clock. 98's normally sell for around £12000. It might pay you to stick it on Findit.com which is a free advertising forum for American cars over here or on http://www.autotrader.com. If it is the case that you can bring it back and register and MOT it without the SVA test, it would be a real bargain for someone. Sadly, I only bought mine last September and my other mate who spent 4 months looking for an LS1 for £10k finally had to settle for a '95 TA for £9750 with 44k on the clock.
By the way, they're left hand drive over here as well!
