I just dont want any of you rolling up to a stoplight with a '03 Cobra and then end up looking like a horses ass.
The small facts up front. T56, Eaton SC (probally 6psi), engine is anyones guess until Feb 6 (4.6/5.0/5.4), 390hp.

Thanks Rob, you traitor!
EDIT: I'm just joking Rob, but it seems like you've been leaning more toward the Ford side of the house, ever since you bought your 5.0!!!

Funny - they couldn't build the cars to beat F-Bodies before, now that the F-Bodies are gone (though hopefully not forever), they come up with a mean thing like that ... Oh well ...

It may be coming but can most anyone afford it?
Probably not , We'll see how much horsepower and jazz it carries over once the bean counters get through with it.
If it does come it will probably be limited to 500 and you have to hold a racing license of some sorts and base sticker is 50,000 dollars and it comes with no backseat or carpet.
I'LL wait and see if it comes, cause if it does I 'll more than likely get one as long as the price is right.

The only reason I used motor trend cover was it was the only photo I had that was recent. Feb 6 the '03 Cobra will be revealed.
BTW, how is passing info make me a traitor (not that I care, but curious as to your thought process) and, Garry the Cobra has been able to run with the F body for a couple of years.
Happy motoring

I have to disagree on that one. Stock for stock I do not think the Cobra is all that much competition for a F-body. And to think that the Cobra is the SS of the mustang family:roll:

They have already played that tune, ala 95 Cobra R. Exactly as you have described it above. But the word on the street (until Feb 6 when it is unveiled), and this is from "Blue Oval News" (pretty reliable).
It will be Eaton SC'd, it will have a T56, it will be atleast 345hp leaning towards 390+, and it will sticker right around 35k. The MACH 1 will be right behind it, at around 30k.
I dont want to sound like I'm defending the "other" guy, its just that I'm not one of those "GM is the best, screw everyone, we rock YeeeHaww fools.

Thought I'd also add that there is only a Y2K cobra, and a 2001, no 2002. They have been reported up and down the line to run 13.0-13.2. Yeah, Id say that is right in line with a LS1.
Everything being equal, the LS1 probabaly has about 20rwhp on it, and with the snakes IRS it would probably out launch it, but the power issue is moot.

But one day our Camaros will be old and up for replacement and GM will only be offering us a reject truck from the Berley Hillbillies so, sad to say, this may have to be an option.......one day.

errmmm...whatever
A cobra would kick the sh!t out of a LT1.
And I know plenty LT1's kicking the sh!t out of LS1's, so drawing from that, mod for mod I'd say they stand up fine.
Relax Jack, you can keep your nifty new motor Some of us like to broaden our horizons
amen John, there is always some one more motivated.

yes
I remember a time (about 12 years ago ) when I had a 89 lx 5.0 with 3 miles on the odo. that car till the 93 model year was the bench mark fo Chevy to beat. The F-bodies and the vettes couldn't even come close to it from the show room floor. So I guess it is about time for the door to swing towards Ford for awhile. Every time I switch I always seem to become the under dawg.

I'm not underestimating anyone, I know they're fast, but show me track results or something. I'm just not buying it.. I'm not trying to defend the LS1, but I've talked to several Cobra owners, and they say the LS1 is the "He said POOP", and that Ford needs to hurry up and catch up..
As far as I'm concerned, it's about time. If the stock Cobra comes from the factory with 390 horses, that will just give GM something to think about..
Oh and Rob, if you're referring to your LT1, that's not a normal LT1 man, you know that!
