Just picked up the new Chrom & Flammen Magazine, they have a huge list of events in there. I wish I knew where some of these places are. One event sounds very promising. Chrom & Flammen is celebrating it's 20th year by doing a car show at the EuroSpeedway in Lausitz near Dresden. Quite a drive, but there will be a Nascar race going on, Quartermile for everybody (extra cost), Cruising on the ring and a Party at night. All this is happening on 20/21 Juli. Registration is required, it's 30 Euro per person. Maybe we can get a club deal.
Sounds like a kick a** event and party. Anybody interested?

Sounds good... and yes, quite a drive, but for once I'm a bit closer than you US military folks ... if y'all want to, I'll meet up with you up here at the A7/A4/A5 triangle ... (let's get a nice li'l convoy going )

Count my wife and me in, unless I have to be out of town for a conference. Sounds like a great time. Squirrelina, I agree with starting the convoy at the French border if you are talking about the Kaiserslautern area. Email me and let me know where you are located. Does anyone know how to register?
Another minor point. It is not a NASCAR race, it is ASCAR which is the Anglo-American Stock Car Racing. They appear to be similar to our NASCAR cars. I picked up some brochures in England a couple of weeks ago near the Rockingham track. According to the brochure, the cars have 500 hp V-8 engines and a choice of three body styles. They are also having races at the Eurospeedway on 25-26 May and 21 Sep. The one on 21 Sep is in conjunction with a FedEx CART series race. There is also a CART race and ASCAR race on 14 Sep at the Rockingham track in England. From the brochure I have, it looks like the CART cars will be having either practice or time trials beginning on 12 Sep before the Rockingham 500 on the 14th. If anyone wants the complete ASCAR schedule email me and I will send it to you. The brochure also has the complete Formula One schedule if anyone wants it.
Anyways the event in July sounds like fun. We will try to make it.

I will come, too! (unless I have an exam on the 22.)
I would join the convoy somewhere at the A70 or A9...
(In october I move to Dresden - nice city/area )

ChrisV6, do you know a way to get in touch with the C&F people to ask about a club discount? It'd be worth a shot, I think.

Is anybody writing them to check on a club discount?

ok then I suggest Ramstein Truckstop or Vogelweh BK for future meeting points
If nobody else wants to call/write I will do it during next week, but let me now, don't want to do it double.
I can also help on translations if they don't have a english version of the registration form.

10 cars = 1 gets in for free
20 cars = 2 get in for free
and so forth...
I was hoping for something better than that, but it's better than nothing.
Let's start registering by printing the form that ChrisV6 posted and sending them in. I suggest everybody that registered should post in here so we get an accurate count. Note that it's 30 Euro PER PERSON, passengers have to pay also. I also suggest everybody registers as soon as possible as space is limited and registrations will be handled first come-first serve. I guess we could also just register all at once, but who would volunteer to take the risk of paying for all?
There will be trophies for the racing and for the show&shine.

Not really a huge discount but ok.
How does C&F recognize that we´re from the same club?
There´s no "club"-field on the registration form...
And a question for all:
Do you take part in "show&shine" (Sa 9:00 - Su 17:00)?
Except my exhaust tips really nothing is shiny on my car
What about the other events (quartermile & big parade)?
Don´t want to miss something!
