Well since I do not have "He said POOP" else to do without my car I went and did a bad thing. I test drove a BMW M3 and M5 today. It was cool as "He said POOP". The M3 was the coolest, while the M5 is the most luxurious. Both top out at 270KMH. I hit it with both easily. It was so cool. They take down your liscense number and say be back in 30 minutes. I beat the piss out of both of them. I pulled in front of my house and dropped the clutch(with DSC off) and let 2 POSI blacks through 1st and 2nd.... Watch out on the autobahn for top speed, but acceleration is no match for us....
I tried to run a guy in a red 3rd gen Z28, but he was not into running the M3........ George would buy the M3 as a toy if he could......., but never get rid of the TA... If it is totalled though.....Hmmmmm..
The M3 is a non-negotiable 41,000 and the M5 is 61,200... I beat the piss out of 100,000 worth of cars today.........

I'll 2nd G's statement. Just got done riding w/ Daytona Dan and the M3.
The car has KILLER brakes! 2. Torque is all thru the rpm band in any gear but it's not like our torque. It is a 6 but considering......it pulls and handles well. I'd drop it a inch or two.....to high for me. Comfort is top notch.
Didn't like the way you bang the gears and the rearend clunks. I was in the back seat and heard and felt the clunk. Might of been this particular car.
3. He got it past 270 in 6th. Then polizie showed up but we didn't get busted because the brakes stopped us like a charm. No fade or chatter from em at all.
The car sounds good too. And to watch the tach hit 8000 is pretty cool too.
George what did you think of the color of the car? That's the exact color those knuckleheadz at OK painted my spoiler! I love it! I'm gonna get the paint code even though I have it I just wanna confirm it.

Past 270? Was it a hill? Mine would not pull past 270 no matter what. I was on the 3 lane towards Manheim and it just hung at 270....
Yes that black is cool.....

run him from a stop. This car I truly believe has a high rpm charge, so from a roll it could get ugly. If this thing pulls into the 270 zone you really dont want to do to many 4th lane shoot outs with it.
think about who tested the 13.49 run, was it the same people that could only get a 13.8 from the LS1 Z28?? ie car and driver

I do know that if you get caught slippin watch out. With the DSC turned on it is impossible to spin that much. So traction is no problem. And with a car that revs good all the way to 8k it is a high rpm banshee.... I would not race for pink slips, but with a nice stretch of road it would be a fun race...... I tried to get that red 3rd gen to give me some raw numbers, but he was not taking.....

Acceleration? Hmmm.....those 262rwtq #'s are deceptive in this car. It pulls to me like it had more and it got higher as the rpm's went up. Very smooth and broad. Maybe the gearing had something to do w/ it.
In a roll it's gonna be a good race unless the ls1 driver knows how to drive then it's over.
It was a fun ride. Dan was saying the euro versions are equipped more ponies. Don't know how true but the one thing is for certain. Euro versions come w/ cross drilled brakes while the us specs don't and you can't get the option as well. But then again this was the dealer saying that and on top of that had the nerve to tell me the M5 hood was metal. That sucker had composite written all over it and was lighter than hell. Didn't even sound like metal when tappin it either...........guess all car sales men are the same. Dumb!

Come on George,Sounds like you had too much fun, but seriously
BMW's have the most inaccurate speedometrs in the world. If you didn't hit the speed limiter in fifth or sixth then you more than likely didn't even hit 155 mph (250kph) . Don't get me wrong They are a good race . It is neck and neck all the way . Sometimes we win sometime they win. But unlesss it has been chip tuned by one of the tuners .The M3 and M5 will only do a speed limited top speed of 155 (250kph).
They do have impeccable Driving manners as I found out today Where the M3 was putting 15 down on me in Autocross.
Btw they both taste pretty darn good to an SS.

I did hit the limiters on both cars. The M3 was at about 6k doing 270kmh in 6th. The M5 was about 5k doing 270kmh in 6th. The cool thing about the M3 is it doesn't redline until 8k. I know our cars would beat both of them in stock form, but it would be cool to race you to 270kmh with one hand and reading the paper....

Their federally regulated to 250kph in Germany. That is straight from BMW's Mouth. If its saying 270 its actually 250 or there abouts.
Any new word on the car yet?

Sounds like you got some more venting out. Call it speed therapy. Good luck with the TA.

Roy is right, they are governed at 250 just like most German cars. Tuners like AMG, Carlsonn, AC Schnitzer, B&B, etc take care of this problem though.
Mind you that the new E46 style M3 isn't all that fast compared to the 97+ E36 M3 as that one was 24 ponies shy but was a LOT lighter. (i'm talking about euro spec cars).
If you really want to experience a blast i'd avise you to see if you can find a Mitsu Lancer Evo VI for for sale and take that puppy for a spin.
The words acceleration and handling get a completly new meaning as that four cilinder really pulls hard and it goes around corners like a forklifter.
Geeeeez what a rush,

Jack, Dan was sayin he could out corner this BMW in his car and the susp was way too soft for him. (rolleyes) LOL!
The car was crisp and so was the steering response.
What was cool about it was you had the this sport button and you push it and the car had a different sound and more response.
I liked the car but not the price tag.
Bang for the Buck is us and there isn't any competition we can't take for under 60K that's impressive to me.
Nothing like a F-body.

It must be nice having a working car. It's only been three weeks and I feel like a crackhead having withdrawals. I tried to race a BMW on the way in to work today but he just laughed at the stratus. So I swirved to hit him and ran him off the road. Who's laughing now. Just kidding but I thought about doing it. That counts for something.
