The Porsche Club of America has an auto x event planned for the 9th of June at the Sembach Air Field. The event starts at 10:00. Registration starts at 09:30. American cars will compete in their own class (unlike last weekend) This is the only information that I have and might interest some members. Sembach airfield is close to K-town. Any more details would be great if Available

Looks like we have somebody else hooked ... Gil, Roy has been going there for a while, search the board for Sembach or AutoX to find some of the threads ...

Gil,
You know I'll be ther with bells on. I should have the stripes on my car by then so that should be good for at least 2 seconds off my time or 1 cone which ever way you look at it(LOL). Are you still going to go to the ring this comong Sunday(26th)? I'm going to try and be there around 0745. Let me know. I'll try and send those pictures again!

Thanks for the info Garry, it helped me out a lot specially since I didn't know about the search feature until now.
Send me a picture when you get the new stripes FireChicken, I Don't know about taking 2 seconds off your time but It will definitely look great. as for the ring and the Auto X in June It doesn't look good for me. Bad dates but I will definitely be there for the 4th of July Meet ? and the Auto X in July at the Sembach air field.
Have Fun putting the stripes on. lol

No doubt racing stripes are like worth 100 Hapees they scare people and make your car look really fast. Make it yellow wheels for the Hawk next year. LOL

I do not like those stripes... they look cheap.
If color, then paint. Will take them of my car and repaint.

Don't worry. It will run one day. And if it costs me a arm and a leg.

You´re funny... I´m happy if the car starts and beats some... Don´t give a dime about the paint. OK, that´s not true: I´d like the car in dull black, but it´s to much work...

Your right paint would be better, my 1973 Firechicken is white with PAINTED blue stripes. My better half would divorice me if I even thought about painting stripes on my 6 month old Firechicken! The nice thing is that I can take them off anytime if I want with no problems. Now there is 3 of the exact same color Trans Am's as mine(wrong Answer)so I will make sure that mine is one of a kind!! I've got to be different!

Are you sure they come off without any problems? I always would worry about the stripes leaving some marks - and if it is only the difference in fading the color/sunlight.
Hawk is right - why not just get a special set of Rims (not necessary yellow) but they can be changed even easier when you don't like them anymore.
Hope that the other guys want to be different and do something ugly to their cars.

I sense that you really do not like the idea of "stripes" or "yellow" wheels. I'm thinking from the opinions I'm getting here that I should really reconsider this whole stripe thing, what about flames instead? Tell what you really think (don't hold back LOL)???

What I really think?
On a new car leave the Paint alone as long as possible/as it looks good and don't mess it up with sticking on cheap s***. Keep the value of the car (paint), the elegant style.
Get the difference with individual looking rims or lights or spoiler or something else unique, which may be changed when you don't like it no more or want a different look again.
On an older car which could use a paint refreshing anyhow I would not mind at all to have a cool looking paintjob.
Stripes or flames or spiderweb ... as long it is painted on and not a 'wannabe'.
Sorry, but that is what I think.

Gil, I ordered the mud flaps yesterday, we must of been thinking the same thing.
Squirrelina, I like the way you think! I agree, I feel paint is the only way to go, but it's cheaper for me to do it this way first and if I don't like it I'm not out alot of money or heartache. I personally think my car needs something to enhance the Ram Air hood, I like hearing what people think, honestly, not "oh yah that's cool" (just because they don't want to make someone mad). Alot of times that will give you new better ideas and keep you from wasting money. Thanks for being honest. Are you going to the ring this weekend? Hope to see you there
Val
