Just wondering how many people are interested in a meet there and if it is doable on 26May. If you get to the ring at 8am there is hardly anyone there and you have the ring all to your self out there.

Ticket price for a Funfer (5 rounds) 48 euro.

They want to meet at 0800am - is that right?
Counting 1,5 hrs travelling time, leave around 0630am from Vogelweh truck stop?
My cell is 0170 23 66 527

Roy, where exactly on the Ring do we meet? Never been there. Just need directions from the Autobahn Exit (Ulmen) on. Or tell me a place easy to find.

The Best place to meet would be the Mosal rest platz on A61 . Once you cross that huge bridge look for the sign on the right and exit there . We shouldbe there waiting. I believe it has a bathroom and a imbiss there.
My cell number again for those that do not have it is
016092725628.

I HAVE BEEN TEARING UP THE NURBURGRING FOR 5 YEARS NOW. ON A MODIFIED SUZUKI RF900R AND IN THE LAST 2 YEARS A MODIFIED SUZUKI GSXR 1300 HAYABUSA.(READ:HIGH PERFORMANCE MOTORCYCLE)

YOU HAVE GOT ME SALIVATING RIGHT NOW.

BUT IF I DO GO, I'M AFRAID I WILL HAVE TO LEAVE MY BLACK Z28 LT1 AND TAKE MY SUPERBIKE.
SORRY, NO CONTEST.

BEFORE I CAME TO VILSECK I USED TO BE IN BAUMHOLDER AND THE RING WAS A QUICK HOP AND SKIP AWAY.

NOW I AM CLEAR ON THE OTHER SIDE OF GERMANY IN VILSECK AND IT IS MORE LIKE A 2 HOPS A COUPLE SKIPS AND ONE H-LL OF A JUMP AWAY.

I'M DUE FOR NEW TIRES SOON ANY WAY, AND MY KNEE SLIDERS HAVE NOT SEEN ANY REAL ACTION THIS YEAR SO FAR.

DON'T KNOW RIGHT NOW,IF I AM UP TO DEALING WITH SUSTAINED SPEEDS OF OVER 200 MPH ON AN EARLY SATURDAY MORNING.

MAYBE I'L JUST GO SLOW. YEAH, RIGHT. OR SPEND THE NIGHT SOMEWHERE IN MY OLD NECK OF THE WOODS. IT'S DOABLE.

I DON'T KNOW RIGHT NOW, BUT MY BODY IS QUICKENING ITSELF BY ME JUST SALIVATING OVER IT.

You talk some good smack about doing 200mph at the ring . What section would that be? I got a hundred euros that say you can't and live to tell about it. Or did you mean 200KPH.

But in all seriousness if Helmut Dahne doesn't hit 200mph on the course what chance could you possibly have? I mean after all He holds the record for the fastest lap time in a street production bike at the ring. 7mins 49 seconds I believe.

On a side note Saturday is a Short day at the ring 14:00- 19:30

Oh yeah I forgot been going there since 96.

ay roy, i meant 200 mph GOING ON THE AUTOBAHN to GET THERE!

thats around 315 KPH. The fastest i have went on that course was on that back straight where you get on and off the course. coming out of the last series of bends i powered it up, it flew past 130MPH (around 200 KPH) then around 150 MPH /260-270 KPH,and right then i would fly right past my braking point and i got on the brakes hard and downshift so i would be able to exit off the course and not fly through the cones pointing to exit the course.

(i recomend you don't do that. I got kicked off the course last year for that.)(speeding up at top speed to where the cones point you to exit)

I am somewhere in the neighborhood with the exact speed I was doing. at no other point on the course did i ever even get close to that speed, due to the sharp elevation changes and corners and sweepers at various cambers appearing seemingly at random.

I was under full throttle, the tach and speedo was flying around the dial with more precision than a fr--kin' swiss timepiece and I was not exactly making exaclty sure what my speed was.

(i recomend using that back straight to SLOW DOWN NOT SPEED UP for the exit, they got on me for that)

when i first went to the ring they had just recently made it a mandatory rule to pull in halfway down the straight to get off, then get back on if you wish to.

before that rule people where doing 180 plus mph and there where some terrifying disasters resulting in negative news coverage.(much worse than today)

when i first started i did not get a chance to. nor did i want to. i was a newbie.

the fastest i have EVER gone?

A62- RAMSTEIN TO TRIER - 326 KPH /205-210 mph? AROUND SEPTEMBER 2000.

MORE RECENTLY, A9- NURNBERG TO BAYREUTH - 335 KPH./215-220 MPH? april 2002

RACE KITTED PORSCHES AND OTHER CARS LIKE THAT FADED AWAY AT AROUND 300 KPH/ 180MPH.

AND GET THIS! I HAVE NEVER TOPPED OUT THAT MOTORCYCLE!
I AM NOT EVEN GOING TO TRY TO TOP IT OUT.

it has 340kph on the dial with another notch for 360kph
it's euro-spec but it meets u.s. specs as well.

it's like in big time overdrive but it's so powerful it doesnot even phase the motor at all.

that's what you get when you get the fastest mass produced motorcycle in the world and you modify it, break the leash and set it loose.

OH, SHUCKS!! 1400-1930? THAT MUST HAVE CHANGE IN THE PAST YEAR OR TWO. IT USED TO BE OPEN MORE.

thanks for telling me!!! thanks a lot, man!

don,t remember but i do get passed by some smaller lighter bikes and some tighly sprung porsches, ferraris and such around the tighter corners

my bike is not made for tight corners

I was thinking to go up the A1. I believe from K-Town it would be the shorter way. What do you think?

Squirrel that might be best for you guys from Ktown. I have never been that way though.
So once you see the signs for Nurburg or Nurburgring or Nordschleife take that exit andthen follow the signs for Nordschleife.

Also of note for everyone I don't want to sound like a mother hen but please read this safety info here if you haven't already .
