It is really nice hear 110-220 Volts in the barracks. Private guns are not allowed. Motercycle lic is hard tto get unlless you have one from the states. We have a couple of German/American fests comming up are you a MP? Nurenburg is about 45 min away. I live on post Rose barracks.

Great place. Especially in the Auto Craft Shop. That's where I hang out. They keep saying I'll get a bed in there one day. Vilseck is very well located for travel. An hour to Czech, 2 hours to Austria, maybe 6 hours to Italy. Also good beer & food.

hohenfels is just south of vilseck and grafenwoehr dude.
the town of amberg is halfway between.
we are between the city of Nurnberg and the Czechoslavakian border.
hohenfels is a training installation.

Regensburg, Parsberg are the hoenfels hang outs. The Box sucks I have 21 rotations in the box and I would consider it a swear word in the winter.

Just think of a big sand box with you in the middle and you'd be pretty close. Dust, mud, hot, and funky. You don't have to wash your car there, its always nasty. Sorry to hear your going there. My condolences.

BOX is Mud about 3 feet of it if it rains. Dust and bugars if you get a dry spell. It is a 20 km X 13 km tank playground where the units simulate WAR. However the dirt and mud bleed ove into the admin area. The Box is a swear word in Europe.

Well Hawk just came back from 1 1/2 weeks in the box and you won't believe this. It didn't rain one single day. But of course it still was not a very good experience.
I have 10 rotations so far under my belt and it does not get any better.
