I'm in the army, and will be moving to Heidleberg(maybe)in Feb. 03' Just wondering what the market is like for American car parts over there. I buy most of them from sponsors on ls1.com. Can I also do it from there? I also would like to know if I should bring my 02 WS6, or store it for 3 years? I have a little time to decide, but the more info the better. Thanks.

Parts for US-cars, especially newer F-Bodies, you will most likely have to get from the States, getting them from german places will be a bit costly ... being in the Army, at least you won't have any problems with customs and taxes ... shipping can be a bit of a PITA, though ... some places do not do APO addresses, which can lead to horrendous shipping charges ...

Why would you leave it there? Assuming Uncle Sam pays for the shipping, I guess most americans do love driving on the autobahn once they get used to the speeds ... storing the car for the winter (which I do with my 'vert) is bad enough, but for three years ... :)
Anyway, looking forward to yet another nice F-Body hitting the german streets ... :) and welcome to the board ...

I say, bring it on over! Europe could use another FBody! True, some companies do not ship to APO addresses, but I actually found a company (besides Mom and Dad) that acts as an interim. You give them your address and have whatever you buy shipped to them. Then they ship it to you. That's just one idea. Bring it on over!

Paula :)

Ship it. You won't regret it, well maybe when it snows.

So what do you do in the Aviation? I work at an airfield that has nothing but Crash-hawks, and $hit-hooks. You a flier, or a maintainer? There are airfields all over the place, so unless you have a pin-point assignment, don't buy a house yet. I was staposed to go to Ansbach, Ha.

Welcome to the board... see you round the 'bahn.

BTW... you ever seen a Purple 97 RS over there around post?

Heidelberg is a very nice city. There is even a Hard Rock cafe in the walking district.. ;)

Bring the WS6, so you can have it at the meetings and stuff. :)
