I had to give back a car that I have been test driving for the last two days. A 2001 Cobra. Just want to tell you up front that the car is a freaking beast, I went and got a loan for it and at the last minute backed out, cuz I didnt want a car payment again. However I wished they would sell the damn thing, cuz I stop everyday to admire it.
Yeah, your LS1's probably would beat it (jury is still out), but when you wrap it out to 7k and grab another gear..........man what a feeling, and sound.... I still may take the plunge.
You'll all talk $hit, but these cars are head and shoulders above a 4th gen in my book. In fit and finish and delivery of power...........I'm sold, now if only I had a rich dead uncle...........

Damn right. If you want it, buy it. The only way to beat temptation is to give in to it. As for the "vs LS1" thing, I've never driven one but I have been to a show recently and thought the interior was as cheap and tacky as any LS1, if not worse. I examined two and didn't think the build quality was anything to rave over either. Try it without the rose-tints - he heh.

Not trying to start the .vs thing trust me, I knew going in that it wouldnt run with a LS1, let alone a modded one, but atleast compared to my car, I like the interior better. I really wouldnt care if I had to set on a orange crate and drive it, that motor is something. It doesnt have the low grunt of a LT1, or the top end of a LS1, but it is smooooothh, and the sound at around 6200-6500 made me smile everytime.
No John I dont have 2 Foxes and a Fbod, if I had bought the Cobra, the 5.0 would have to go, and more than likely the Z soon after. That and 27000 other reasons talked me out of it.

Rob I would keep what you have now. You have the best of both worlds a camaro and mustang, and as we all know the mustang is cheaply modded. I've heard the new stangs will make your pockets light on the modding scene.

I agree with Ryan. To give up what you have now, and have a car payment it would have turned me off also. You do have the best of both worlds. A 5.0 and a Very HOT LT4.
I agree with you, my buddy had a 96 cobra, with 3.73's, off road pipe, Flows ect. the feeling of a 7K powershift is awsome. They are also a very nice ride. I would take one in a heart beat.
