Well hotrod and myself pulled my tranny today... only took about an hour and a half.... not to bad and then I pushed her outside to the hobby shop parking lot..... where it will sit for about a week or less waiting for parts...

What we found was a DESTROYED sprag gear... this sum a bit^h had nothing left to her.... it's only supposed to spin one way but I guess it decided to go BI and roll both ways... that's what my big pop was is when all of the insides of it blew into hundereds of little pieces. But no other pieces were affected.....

My fix is to order a whole new rebuild kit... ofcourse a new sprag gear and a police/taxi tranny package to replace some of the other springs and a few parts in the valve body and oil pump.

All in all not to bad.... total time was only about 4 hours... with about an hour of that being B.S'ing.......

I'll keep you all updated as she gets back together... Later!

You guys got that out in an hour and a half? I think it took that long to get my wife's car on the lift.

I think the sprag gear is the thingie that Hotrod said that her's needed also. Let's see whos is more messed up...

Dude nothing to it. Just the good old AF training classes that I can not use because they think that it is better to get the warranty with it. RT--by far that is the most f@#cked planetary gear set I have ever seen. As far as Jr's, his wa a sprag gear or what most call a one way clutch. That is what everyone heard at the track from Jr's car letting loose(pop). Glad to be an assistance to the fellow F-body members!

What ever about getting those two mixed up. You should have seen the look of concern on your face as I was ripping into your tranny. Either you did a number on that part or the guy that you bought it from did it. Through my experiences I would venture to say one to many Z's in the road. That planetary gear set drives your 1st and reverse--figure it out.

Later dude

Are you coming up this weekend?

Yeah I didn't think that we did all that damage in the 3 weeks that we had the car. I had a few conversations with some guys at work that didn't know what those Z's were. And couldn't believe someone would do that to their car. Is there any other way all that could have happened?

I will talk with Paula when she gets home. She went to work with a friend today. I'll let you know if we are gonna be coming over that way this weekend.
