I have been reading both sides of the story. The cobra driver posts on Stangnet. There is alittle more to the story than either side is saying.
And the Smack-Talk begins!!!!
the camaro was using alittle more than he is letting on. Either way they are gonna go at it again, with both sides videoing. Pretty sure the outcome may change a bit more the next time around

OK How bout I put a H/C on this new GTO and stomp the mustang with my wife doing co-pilot duties. I like the plan but the look needs some work. However it is subtle so it could be a nasty sleeper

I tell ya what: I saw the GTO concept some month ago and i was stunned, great looks, cokebottle back, four doors but "invisible" rear doors, just great.

The Holden looks like "He said POOP". But: If you like the german Opel Vectra you´ll be happy.

Check this: http://ultimategto.com/2004/reviseit.jpg

GM has nothing for me in the next years. The vette is a great car but way too expensive and the new GM "minisportscars" with fourbangers that look like wanna-be-tt´s...

But Ford has the solutions: The newest 300hp mustang even has a shaker-hood (i´d die for a great 77/78 TransAm), but a bit expensive. And the 2004 Mustang sketches just look stunning... Eleanore (Gone in 60 secs) rules...

almost forget, there is 1 more.

If GM still had the balls to make the Impalla SS, it could go after the new Mercury Maurader. Definatelly would be a good shoot out. The imp would be alittle underpowered, but it would be a good fight for 2 big 4door sedans.

I know what you mean about the Mustangs being the only thing out there worth considering in the next few years. I'd kill for a Corvette but I need that 3rd seat and if I was in the market for a big ugly 4 door, I can't see any competition for the M5. No disrespect to American 4 doors but they look like **** and handle even worse. At least there's a healthy market for the F-body which keeps it's price. Can't say the same for a saloon.

Do not underestimate the General. They have the LS1/LS6 in production and those engines can put a hurting on the ford mafia.

You could get a 2000 Firehawk add some bolt ons and you can take any Cobra they could send in your direction. Correct me if I am wrong

AND I APOLOGIZE FOR GETTING LONG WINDED ;)

your missing my point. A person could probably buy a used *insert car* add some *insert mod* and beat *insert car*.

I'm talking about a stock car that throws down 380+rwhp and may soon be rated at 420hp (this is from Ford and the insurance companies) because it is seriously low balled in the what it really makes department.

My other point was that sure, I can still buy a trailblazer SUV with a LS1, or a ZO6 with a LS6, but what can I get from GM that is less than 40K and could run in the 12's? The GTO? Probably not.

And lastly, as far as the ZO6 is concerned; sure I could bolt on and go snake hunting, but compare the price of a smaller blower pulley to the price of a trick SB heads/cam package and it will soon be clear that the GM has marketed itself solidly out of the dollar/performance top spot.

BTW here is what a stock dyno chart looks like out of one of these monsters, and as a parting shot if you do take the plunge and buy one of these monsters.
