Well, I put the american thunder back on the car today. My Borla shifted on me for the last time, and now it is sitting in a lonly place in the garage.

I had been missing the "I'm freaking fast" sound since I put the Borla on. Nothing, IMO sounds as good as a LT1 on flows, except maybe a 5.0 on flows (hey! Its my opinion)

So I am officially loud again. The neighbors should love me at 5:30am going to PT with longtubes, no cats, and flows!!! :)

Yeah, the Flowmaster sounds really good, it just sucks that it's not stainless steel!! Be careful, though, until you really know your neighbors!! ;)

How much louder is the American Thunder exhaust than a regular flowmaster. I was thinking about getting that exhaust but I wasn't sure how it sounds.

Go to http://www.thefbodyshop.com and listen to the sound files. They have files of both LT1 and LS1 engines!!

There are quite a few Flow systems running around, shouldnt be to hard to find someone to hear it. But, I dont know if its louder, just differant. The flowmaster has a real in you face sound and yes it resonates, but I bought a 90's muscle car not a Toyota Camary, I expect some rough edges.

The stainless vs. aluminum durablity issue is all realative to the person, If I lived in Miami and took long drives along the beach thru the ocean, then maybe it would be important to me. More likely than not the aluminum will last 2-3 years, and at 250 for the whole kit, that will be fine.

Besides, the Borla intermediate pipe, is a carbon copy of the flows, so I can just stick it on if I have to.

Later all

I have a Delta Flow Flowmaster on my car and it sounds nice as hell. I was just wondering the Difference between a Flowmaster and an American Thunder Flowmaster. I have the same conclusion on the borla. The Steel is nice but my opinion it doesn't sound as good as a flowmaster. But thats onlt (MY OPINION) don't want anyone taking offense. Later

the american thunder is only a flowmaster 80series 2 chamber... the rest is the same as any cat back.............. the biggest advantage, besides the awesome sound is this was my 2nd kit, and each one fit perfectly.
