I just finished watching the Z06 gang rape a Boxster S and a BMW M3. Okay, it wasnt a total crushing, the vette only outright won 5 of the 6 tests ;) ... 0-60 @4.2, 1/4 12.6@113, 100-0 304ft, 60-0 105ft, skidpad 1.0g, roadcourse 1.x sec a lap faster. It did have a tie in the 600ft slalom 69.8mph to the M3. No, the M3 never even came close in any other event, and the Porsche, should have never showed up.

All in all the Z06 sent the wine and cheesers packing. Look at the state of cars today, and the american cars dominate they're respective classes. Viper ACR and Corvette Z06 rule the roost in they're class of FIA GT, as does the Saleen and Steeda Mustangs in they're respective classes. On the street it is just as brutally obvious.

If you are going to build a sports car, it had better deliver, otherwise it is a "sporty" over priced status symbol.

I think it's about time Chevy builts a Formula 1 car that'll kick some Eurotrash ass. Show the Schumachers what's up!
At least it wouldn't sound like a 20,000 RPM lawnmower.

if chevy rejoined the F1 scene. When they were partners with Lotus, they were pretty much unbeatable. Given they're past record of half assed support however, it would probably end up like the Jaguar/Ford combo.

BTW a person could go straight to hell for Schumi hating. They should probably just automatically award him first place everytime, and let the rest of the grid race for second. It must suck to be that damn good ;)

Yup - back when Mercedes was still doing well (read: beat the crap out of the competition performance-wise) and Ferrari was a long way from having a performance car with reliability, it was astonishing what he got out of the car by his driving skills - had he been driving the Mercedes, he would have probably passed the second place driver at least once during the race ... I think he did number three in one of the last 10 or 15 races ... not sure which one it was ...
Also, look at it - both BMW and Mercedes use less fuel and have slightly better power than the Ferrari ... but tactics and skill beats 'em most of the time ...

of the problem with the GM racing team. GM is so set on cadilac wining at Le mans, they forget/abandon the other teams. How about absolutely no factory support for the SCCA camaro and vette teams, little to no money in GT series. The only series they support is Nascar. The NHRA support is there, but no where near what Ford and Dodge (truck) pump in.

Chevrolet and GM in general are sorry when it comes to racing and supporting they're product.

We are already seeing the fruits of this labor, ie. death of F body. When the Hemi charger (or whatever its called) comes out in 2004-2005, and the mustang has gotten nothing but stronger, GM will decide to get back into the sports segment again, and try to sell us another 305 with stripes claiming its the "uber" sports car. The vicious cycle will start again.
