Who is the President of this club? If there is not one could we get one? We need to get registered through ADAC. As F-body Europe this would allow are club to become official. Right now we have 3 potential sponsors. I do not know if this is what you want? What this could do for us is get us. Cordinate our own shows, rent race tracks, buy parts at discount rates. Is there support out there to take the next step or am I dreaming?

I was talking with Silas about getting some events planned for our meets. I'm pretty sure their is going to be some more plans in the near future. I think what would we should do is every month have a meet and post a few ideas on the board and let people vote on what they want to do. That way we're just not sitting in a parking lot talking for 12 hours. I don't know about everyone but I like to get out there and role.

I'm with you, Ryan, and I think we have far too few meetings. I know alot of guys are out of town, but for those in town, and others interested, we should get together more often!!

Couldn't agree with you more. There are a lot of nice cars so lets show them off. If we had more meetings the club would really be under way. George and Garry did a great job with the board now all we need is a means to it all and we'll be good to go.

Damn Bruce you dug this one up didn't ya? Well since fall is coming this will be a good time to sit and review this past yr. Then we can go from there and build on what we have. President is just a figure head IMO so WE all collectively need to bring things to the table. I know you southern guys are running strong right now and are keeping things afloat.
Us here in K-town have a lot to be desired. Can bring a horse to water but that's it. There are plenty of folks here but this isn't their thing so only a few stand out Jack, Ryan, JC, and myself. Seem that if a event is going we can't meet for the sake of meeting period. At least up here anyways.......

John, I don't know what keeps us from gettting together more often.. Maybe we can make our own Friday night hang out place. Then maybe other car clubs will come out and make it official.. I don't know, but I think we could get together AT LEAST once every two weeks. What do you Ktown guys think?

Here we go, my kind of business.
Getting a registered E.V (means recognized club) in Germany is not too hard.
All you need is a charter, common cause, a meeting at least every three months, two heads (head honchos) and one spokesman (woman ) --> e.g. president.
Regarding distance, we would need probably two "heads", one from the south and one from the north, so that whereever more then 5 meet, it counts.
I´d propose we talk this over in Bitburg. Benefits i´ll have too check out first, you do get a lot of rebates at some places though.
Bruce: Could we get Venom as a sponsor

My96Z,
It's 2001 Trans Am WS6 dark blue with silver stripes. Are you in Darmstat? Tossing a few back sounds pretty good to me!! We'll have together. You should come to auto-x this Sunday in Sembach it's a blast!! Some more F-bodies in the X class would make for some great competition, Roy and I have been the only f-bodies there and a few Corvettes. We BBQ and all that stuff, you should come and check it out. It's 25 euro to race(well worth it to me) Check the "members" listing under Val C Robinson and I just updated the picture of my ride. Have a good one!
Val

Yep, I am in Darmstadt. My car is not really set up for the autocross, nor am I the autocrossing type. I plan to go to Nurenburg for the fest there this weekend. We will have to get together.

I agree with Hawk on the need to get a little more structure and planning going to help make the club even better. Right now, it is basically a group of guys and gals who decide to get together occasionally to talk smack and have some fun. It could be so much more than that. All it takes is a little organization and a little planning. We have enough folks who are interested to make it happen. I think Bitburg would be a great place to seriously talk about it some.
Here are some thoughts I have had, for whatever they might be worth, which probably isn't much.
1. We need a constitution/charter that states our purpose and goals. That will help keep the club focused.
2. We need officers. In any organization there needs to be some leaders and decision makers. Otherwise the organization will founder.
3. Also there could be some advantages to having some dues. They don't have to be expensive, but they would allow us to get things like cards for the club, provide advertising, a banner, possibly get a small fest tent for events, etc.
4. We might also need to have more than one chapter of the club. Initially, it would probably be two or three chapters, but long term that could grow, including to other countries.
5. I think we need to have regular meetings. How many is not as important as having them. That is the main way we get more organized and plan events.
6. When we plan events, we need to include events for everyone, drags, autocross, show and shine, and cruises.
7. While the club started out primarily with American military people, we now have a few Germans associated with the club. I personally think we need to seek out both Americans and Germans, and even people from other conutries.
If we do this right, we will become better known and grow. Even more important, I think we will have more fun. This is a great group of guys and gals. With a little effort, it can get even better.
These are just my humble opinions. As a final note, during the Cars are the Stars, a ricer group showed up and parked near us. Their club was Kujitsu Racing if I remember correctly. When they pulled in, they set up two small fest tents with their name on them. They also had shirts. Basically they were real organized. If a few Ricers can do it, so can we. That is what made me start thinking about it.

How can everybody meet if you few just contact each other per phone (or on job) and do not let everybody know - with some hours of notice to plan accordingly?
Most of the time I read afterwards in the board, that you all did this and that.
You should know me well enough that I would be there whenever I can arrange (single mother needs to contact babysitter or grandma some time ahead).
In Bitburg I am just too busy most the time (and worn out to a certain point because of prep stuff) with OSL and Motorpark etc.
Suggest next meet at my house. :p

Squirl Wasn't talking bout you. Your exempt! However in the past we had no luck trying to do what is being mentioned now per KC10A. That's why I said you can bring a horse to water but that's it. We can try it again and see what happens. None of you were around initially when we tried this so who's to say it won't work. Sorry if I sound pessimistic but reality dictates otherwise. Been there done that got the T-shirt.
