OK, let's see - who is interested in making a video? Plus, who is willing to actually BE THERE to make the video? Also, WHERE can we do some takes? "Regular driving" shots we could do just about anywhere, a couple nice curvy or hill street would be nice, or something scenic ... but for stuff like burnouts, doughnuts, or crazy takes (e.g. mounting the camera on an R/C car and "passing" underneath a car, or just driving over the camera lying on the ground) a secluded, undisturbed big flat place would be nice (read: required).
Then we need a couple ideas for the scenes/takes ...

Sounds like a great idea. Someone who has been here longer than I have can probably come up with a better place than I can. I would suggest making it someplace about midway between the eastern guys and the western guys. If there is sometime that you can drive Hockenheim ring, that might be a good place where the Polizei won't be bothering you. Where doesn't matter though. It would just be fun.

I'm game. just as long as I don't have to drive to far. Maybe you should think about making two seperate vid's and splicing them together. You know one from the south and one from the north. If it to far away to all meet.

I say right here, nice area and country background (rocks), curves but not too extreme, I'll find a place for the stunt scenes (without police)

Yeah, you missunderstood me. I have what they call a restricted drivers license. You know, to and from work and mission essential only. The only place I could even try to get away with driving to is Bitburg. Later

Quote: Dave, do you have your car yet? What is the deal, and how long does that restriction last?
Hmmm.......
The car. Well technically speaking, no. But it is sooooo close to being done that I can taste it. I went down their last weekend on the 14th to drop off the last parts he needed from me to finish it. I saw my new engine and it is nothing short of badass. The only thing we are waiting on is a custom pulley kit (details on that are long but know this: because it needs this kit it will be a monster as long as I can get traction). Then it's just a matter of putting it in the car.
The licence. It hasn't been reenstated yet (waiting on group commanders sig, probably will be next week). Once it is reenstated, it will last until June 8, 2003. Then I can get my full license back.

D@mn, that's almost another year ... sorry to hear ...
Hm, technically, off the street you would not require a license to drive... just need someone to drive the car to Bitburg, unless that would be covered under your restricted license ...

Dave, you are not 'that' far away.
I am sure we can work something out...
we are here to help each other, right?
So to next events just say where to pick
you up and drop you off, somebody will go
by your house!
And as Garry said: ON the track it is
private ground...

It will be your basic restricted licence. To and from work, standby calls, runs for basic supplies like groceries and such, and well that's it.

My car goes into storage in another 4 weeks (latest) ... if we don't do anything in the next 2 weeks or so, I doubt there's much we can do this year ...
