I am afraid that I may be a failure as a parent. I tried really hard to raise my son right, but I must have screwed up somewhere along the way. Ever since he was born, he has been riding around in GM cars, trucks and vans. Long before he was going to school, I was taking him for rides in my 75 Chevy Monza (350, Hooker Supercomp headers, Edelbrock intake, 4 speed). The first vehicle he drove after he got his license was a 79 Chevy PU, short-bed, 350 with Hooker headers and Edelbrock, Turbo 400, etc. The only non-GM car we had while he was growing up was a 73 Mercedes I got a good deal on and we didn't drive it much. Now he is thinking about a Rustang. What did I do wrong? Do you think it is too late to correct it? Should I write him out of my will for the 35th LE. Thanks for your help.

Jerry

Holy shmoly. My advice would be give him a ride in the 35th aniversary camaro and he should snap out of it.

As long as he wants an 'O3 Cobra, that is fine.. Those are remarkable cars, and if I could find a buyer to give me what I want for my Z, I would probably buy one myself. That is, of course, unless I found an '02 SS for sale... :D

If he were interested in a 03 Cobra, I could understand it a little bit. But, he is looking at an older one, like a 5.0 GT or something like that. He obviously has no taste in cars.

Maybe you can talk him into saving for the 2005 Caddy Camaro :-ok:

I'd let him make his "mistake", nothing like running fast as hell on the cheap :)

But I would never allow him to buy/drive/ride/see/read about the new snake cuz then he wouldnt be to interested in old school ever again.

BTW did I mention that under 1k in mods will get you 450rwhp+ on a '03? (not with Nitrous either ;) )

... i do have an idea actually.

Let him buy it. Let him drive it. Bust him on the A-Bahn.

That worked on curing me from Honda at least :)

Otherwise, is he married? Girls love F-Bodies over here.

(I don´t have a clue if they like stangs, too, but it´s worth a try)

Best regards to you two (or now three)

Hope 2 see u soon.

Congratulations, he didn't buy a Honda. Give yourself a pat on the back and buy yourself a GT40.
