So here I am. Wondering if my car will ever drive again. Soon as one problem gets solved, another pops up. I guess it's mostly my fault. If I had gone with my original plan, there wouldn't be any of these problems. I would have a Nu-Tek built 383 and would have been rolling a long time ago. My second screw up was not asking enough questions. Again I would have been rolling a long time ago with the 383 Tony built out of my stock block. I didn't know he did that for me until well after it was out of my hands. I'm such an idiot. The motor I have now is stronger, but I think it's going to be one problem after another.

Preach on brother Dave. So are you just waiting on the pullies? Good luck with the rest. If you need any help, give me a call.

Pulleys are here, engine is complete. Then the wait was for a motor mount because one of the stock mounts mysteriously dissapeared. Now my barely used clutch won't mount up to this motor. So now the wait is on a clutch that will work.

Yeah I've had a lot of good luck this year. Yeah right. I want a C5 vette. $10,000 buys the giant hassle at Tony's.

Depends on what you consider serious. I have already been offered way more than $10,000 for the formula. If I was in the states it would probably already be gone. There are way more c5's for sale there. But I probably would have never gotten screwed like I did here so I would have my 383 already.

Past tense. I've already been screwed. The person that has my not stock anymore LT1 block with over $2000 in forged internals that I bought. The original purchase was only for a stock block. I wanted $800 and it sold for $300. My set-up was good to go. I kept getting blamed for wanting too much money. So I was reasonable. Then the block that came for me was not an LT1 block. So Tony strokes and bores my stocker and puts these internals in it. I wasn't told this. The buyer never tells me either. He tells Tony I sold it to him. When all I sold was the block. So he gets a product that would cost $3600 or more if you include labor for $300. That is what Tony charged me. Tony told me that the buyer was going to get him some of that $$$. That's fine. What pisses me off is that he never told me he was taking the whole 383 short block. I'm sure all the custom stuff will get worked out for the motor I have now. It's still f*cked up.

Let me understand this:
You're saying you just could have kept the 383 which you had in first place, and let Tony do the same work he did but for somebody else.

While you just gave away a complete 383 including additional 2000 worth of parts and including 300+ labor for a total price of 300.

The new setup causes more following up cost like a new clutch to replace the still ok clutch and whatever else needs to be changed.

This is sad man.

Hope for you that at least everything else is working out and you get your car back in drivable condition soon.

I wasn't going to get into this BUT I am now since the person isn't here to defend themselves and I've been given the green light to do so in his defense. Dave it's unfortunate the way this has worked out for you. Now before I start.....I defend the FBE folks 1st and Dave of all people should know it. Now to the meat and potatoes.

Yes the deal between you and other said member was for the blk only. Yes I did intervene and say you wanted too much for the block. He wasn't going to use your used parts, ie rot assembly. Therefor it didn't make since or was right to charge 800 bucks for it. He could've bought a bare blk and had it sent here for 300 total because a bare blk is only 150 back in the good ole US OF A. Shipping may have put him in the 300 range if that so 300 was fair. Your used rot assebly was junk period....worn rings and a bent rod etc. We saw it for ourselves. Did you? So why charge someone that? That's jacked up no matter how you look at it. Further we are supposed to be here to help each other and cut FBE folks deals. At least that was the idea. He's helped you in the past w/ your car and didn't charge you a thing and if he did it was little to nothing.

2nd. Your 383 was given literally to said member. Asked Tony at least a dozen times "are you sure you want me to take this?" before leaving the shop and he said yes "I'll just take a loss" were his exact words. Said member did not say "I paid for the blk and assembly JUST THE BLOCK!" I don't lie no reason to. But remember Tony got you a engine right? Right....but we are lieing? OK....if you say so  . He wanted us to come back for it the next day because what he was trying to do was dissassemble it and give said member the blk only. He knew we were coming down there that day but was too busy w/ other stuff. He really was surpised to see us. WHY? Hmmm.. maybe he got caught again perhaps? But what Tony didn't tell you was that he never bought you a short blk and was gonna pass off your blk w/ new internals as a new blk to you. Remeber you relied on him to buy your parts for you vs me telling you to buy the parts yourself. Since you don't go down there on a regular basis and your engine knowledge is very limited you would've been none the wiser to know what you had, have, or got. What Tony failed to realize was that we and said member are not dummy's. We knew it was your blk from the jump but what we couldn't understand is why is he just giving it away? Then I remember'd you changed your mind on a Nitro 383 and scrapped the project. At least that were the emails you wrote to me said. All T had to do was change the cam and compression and boom your done. But then the problem arises that you make a deal w/ said member for a blk and now said member is w/out a blk because T rebuilds yours and put's it back in your car. So who is screwing who? Would you have given said member his money back? I recall you asking him for $$ even though no exchange was made on numerous occassions or asking for more $$ when the deal was this amount no more no less. The reason said member didn't say anything is because Tony said another blk was enroute even though he was taking a loss on this engine? Why is he taking a loss is the question you should be asking yourself. He was wrong for what he did and he knew he was caught again so to rectify the situation he gives it away to keep things quiet and buy some time. Since Tony gave it away your problem isn't w/ said member but w/ Tony. Said member said he'd give him some money to compensate for the parts how much hasn't been determined but I'm sure it won't be much since he said don't sweat it. You didn't know that did you? Of course you didn't......

Dave you know I went to bat for you last time and caught all kinds of hell for it. You really don't wanna know what he said to me after you left. So don't think I'm taking sides. I told you and so did others too go a different route ie keep your car running do heads & cam call it a day or keep car running wait for short blk to arrive then rebuild and you chose not to. No problem w/ that you are your own man. My thing is after I told you your situation w/ not having a engine the 1st time you still decide to go through him. You know what I'm talking about too. The 1st time should've been enough for you to see but it didn't and now you are caught w/ your pants down again. The sad thing is though it ain't over. If you read your 1st post on the thread and study it you'll see what I'm talking about. Its amazing no else has caught it or they just ain't saying. I helped you the 1st time but that it's for me same for said member here. This will be the 2nd time I'm ostracised for what's about to take place. But in all honesty I don't care because bullshit is bullshit no matter how you look at it. I don't need to eat a whole cow to know it's beef. Tony is a nice guy w/ good intentions w/ a lot of things but w/ this particular situation he's screwed more than just himself.

I can understand where you are coming from but you left a lot of details out. You live and learn from mistakes that's the name of the game but next time when someone has advice and experienced it 1st hand ..... take it. Your situation has only begun Dave.

Wow, this is way more fukked up than I could have ever imagined. Maybe you should get a 'vette Dave, and stay away from this club. Hell, maybe I should too. You just can't trust anyone apparently. Some people will do whatever they want, and step on whoever they want, to get what they want. That is pathetic, period.

Jack. You are understanding it in the terms you describe. However you seemed to missing a very important point. Parts were assembled in a blk said person bought from Dave. Why on Gods green earth would he do that in the 1st place let alone literally give away the parts? Tony took the loss. I understand where you are coming from but my beef would not be through the said member my beef would be at the source. TONY! Member was going to pick up the blk that was paid for and finds out it's assembled. He wanted the blk period but Tony is the one that said take it I got your engine built. WTF is that all about? No that wasn't what we came down there for and didn't expect a shortblock but he wasn't leaving w/out his blk he was on a deadline. That's when he said go ahead take I'll just take the loss for it. So that means he's responisble and would have to figure out what he's gonna do about Dave. yeah is jacked up up but said member is not to be blamed here.

Was it his property in the 1st place no the blk was and had Dave's internals. But like I say again why would you do that and knowingly give it to someone else? Like I said in the previous post Tony was caught w/ dingi in the air either way. He just figured said member is knowledgeable and Dave isn't and took his chances that way. Bottom line is someone will still be w/out a engine. All because someone is in the business of shaftin so it appears.

Well, I don't really know what to think, except that Dave got screwed big time, and should really be pissed at Tony if what you say is true John. I usually don't judge people, but good lord! I would be so HOT, and I know you are Dave. I just don't understand why someone would do something like that to a supporter of FBE/OSL. Dave, did you actually spend any money on that stuff, or were you just going to pay when it was all said and done?

You hit the nail on the head John. I didn't know most of the story and I said that before. Now I know more and will make changes accordingly. I was flamed but I know it was Tony who kept telling me "I got it under control". I know said member has helped me out. That is why I was negotiable the whole time. $300 is fine if it was for the original deal. The block. I don't know what I'm going to do but I will resolve this. Well I don't know what else to say.

Man, that's one hell of a loss. I wish I could afford to just give away $2000 in parts.

Did you actually buy this stuff Dave?

Yeah all the parts are paid for. F**KED up IMO. Don't know about the import guys. You do reason a good question though about FBE/OSL.
Hell come next season I'll probably been banned form OSL events even though I'm part of the reason it's where it's at today. OH well......

I've got the Rings baby the Rings. :)
