When nothing is all there is to do
When the night has fallen down on you
When your mind is bored, frustration bites
You head off to the city lights
Pick up your keys, unlock the door
The rain is falling more and more
Then you twist the key, just you and she
As raindrops slide off silently
Caress the pedal, rattle panes
The vee-eight fires right through your brain
And growls and snarls at passers-by
Just watching this boy live a lie

And all the kids in disarray all point at Billy's Chevrolet
Guess what it is, just for a bet
When Billy drives his black Corvette
But he don't see and he don't care
About the kids who stop and stare
Don't care 'bout all the girls he's met
Cos Billy loves his black Corvette

When Billy drives the streets at night
Beneath the haunting street lamplight
He gets so mad that no-one sees
His heart is breaking endlessly
A heart so angry, no-one cares
Or sees behind those tail-light flares
They envy, sneer, despise and hate
This black pariah, they can't wait
To shoot down Billy's dreams in flames
But he don't care, they're all the same
They never understood the blood-let
He endured to buy his Corvette
Vee eight rumbling thunder cracks
And Billy smokes those rubber tracks

Now all the kids in disbelief watch Billy's Chevy burn the street
The four tyres scream like Billy's heart
His feelings stretched and torn apart
He's been let down so many times
By girls who spun him pretty lines
When he gets lonely, all he gets
Is angry in his black Corvette.

Thanx. Just messing round as my gf has got the night off and it's too cold to go out and play with the car although I did wash it before it froze.

That looks like a mean '89 you got there. Have you run it over the quarter?

Actually I havent even gotten to drive it yet. Its still in the states getting finished any time now. Paid to have it all done in October, but delays and delays and now I am here and the car is there.

I can hardly wait to drive it though. My new wife will get it and then be able to drive it for the next few months til she gets here.

I plan on taking it to a track as soon as I possibly can.

I am in my full winter mode. And I have been tearing up some roads today. The cold dry clean air has been very good for my wife-

the towns have been very crowded, but out of the towns and it has been a white line heaven- with small spots of ice here and there, and a minor reduction in traction due to the environmentally safe deicing salt(or material) that is on the roadways.

just open her up and let her go.

let her breathe.

The clear cloudless sky. The freezing winds.

dry, brittle roads bordered by a landscape of barren trees and snow and ice.

The soft weak sunlight. The heart of my wife- 5.7 liter high compression V-8 - it's energy being absorbed in my brain.

life is truly a good thing.

God has blessed me.

I am speechless.

I am in Heaven.

A RICERS CHRISTMAS

'Twas the night before Christmas and caught at the light,
Was a domestic V8 and no cops in sight,

I will try, I will try, I will try with this small motor,
To beat this darn F-Body, even with its big blower,

As the light goes green and I pull like no joke,
The F-Body erupts in clouds of tire smoke,

Now Smasher, now Rev-ver, now Stroker, now Blitzin,
These are the names of my four VTEC pistons,

Racing ahead I'm the star of the action,
But I know I'm in trouble when that V8 gets traction,

Grabbing second, I hear the RPM sing,
My mirror is blocked by my shopping cart wing,

I now hear the roar, of that big monster gaining,
All I can do is keep that four banger straining,

In a second, the shockwave hits with a blast,
And my stickers go flying now, a thing of the past,

Don't bother with third, cause now its too late,
Just try to act cool, like you can relate,

Looking up at the taillights as they get smaller,
The driver backs off just to give me a holler,

"You can't win them all," he says in a fling,
"You may not win any, in that silly thing."

I smiled and revved as he pulled out of sight,
With my new mods tomorrow..... it will be a better night.
