To quell any rumors, here is what happened.

16 Jan 03 2015 hrs. Thursday. Weather was chilly, no precipitation. Roadways where clear.

I was headed north on B299, a major thoroughfare through the town of Amberg, south of Vilseck and Grafenwoehr. One of the NCOIC's under me, the person in charge of MP Customs for Hohenfels, had his birthday party and I was headed back to Vilseck through Amberg. I was on this proirity road just about leaving the northern boundary for Amberg when it happened.

Up ahead from me, a boss of a big German law firm in the area drove his BMW wagon into a one way small side street that crosses B299.

For some reason, he turned his BMW around and drove in the one way street IN THE WRONG DIRECTION back to B299. To cross over it.

Whether he was lost, dazed, or confused, or simply not thinking about what he was doing I don't know- he openly admitted that he was looking over to the other side of the street-not looking at the big black domestic V-8 that he was about to pull out in front of-

completely unaware that he was about to pull out right in front of a Z28 LT-1 with a number 46 on the windows.

I braked hard, swerved, and initiated a textbook evasive manuver, but he panic stopped in the middle of the roadway with no way to escape.

My right front corner contacted his left front corner-

Both vehicles completely 100% totalled. No one had injuries.

#46, Sven's LT-1 has been with F-Body Europe much, much longer than I (sven) have, a prior owner being SS396.(I'm sorry man, I tried to avoid him, but he stopped in the middle of the roadway)

This Chief of the German Law Firm has been fully cooperative with me, even though he talks only with his and my insurance companies, but he does not talk to me, Wether he speaks English or not. (I do speak a little German, sometimes). I do not wish to take this to court, I just want to get this over with and move on.

#46 has been actively involved in F-Body Europe before I ever knew about F Body Europe or the car, for that matter.

I've also mentioned the LT-1 as "my wife" because I am single, with no children, and that is what she was to me.

My wife is gone.

The other guy's insurance company will pay for everything and will not dispute anything, including a rental car that I will be using.

Whether or not I will get another FBody I do not know right now. In the 32 years of my life no 4 wheeled vehicle has ever came close to giving me the happiness that the LT-1 did. The past six months I have had 3 accidents- all of them not my fault.

Back in August I was going to get bottled water on my motorcycle when I was hit by a car and then a truck- both happening within 5 minutes of each other (after the first accident we where going to the police station to make a report when I was hit by a truck)

now this- guy drives into a one way street turns around, drives the wrong way and pulls out right in front of me.

This has got to stop. Murphy's Law is in full force.

The Z28 LT-1 is currently at the Schwarzkof GM/OPEL/Chevy dealership in Amberg under the care of Mr. Bilmier until the insurance companies are done with the car.

I will also post later in this thread the address and phone number of the junkyard of where the car will go to If anyone is interested in parts.

I am looking for another late model F Body, just looking right now, not buying.

For now-
I still have my bike, a Suzuki Hayabusa.
Me and my bike will have to carry on, without her.

Hm ... sorry to hear about the car, again got to say glad nobody was injured ... hope you get compensated decently and the insurance doesn't give you any trouble ... if they do, make sure you don't hesitate to get a lawyer or something ...

Damn Sven you have the worst luck. Good to know you are ok. You sure that's a 100% total loss. I've seen or heard worse ressurrected including me. I'm already claiming a part if ya don't mind. Nothing big but I'm in need of. I'll PM ya for it.
Take care,

Silas...........

Holy $hit---

You´ve really had a streak of bad luck lately.....

Well #46 is history but you aren´t and that is what counts after all....

I´ll keep an open eye for you, although a new car will never replace the old feelings, it will help come over the loss.

Well, actually for me buying a new car is always a new period in life, as each vehicle is different and has different moods, just like women.

Meanwhile, why don´t you come to schwabach tonight for a drink and some talk, we can sure arrange for some transportation...

Ram

Hope you're OK, Sven. Though I dropped a Gold Wing at 80mph, I've never had the fear of a car crash. I hope you do buy another F-body or a Corvette or something. Is that the sound of the LS1 on the breeze...it's whispering your name.

Mr. Bilmier has someone who is interested in buying the car. I am selling the whole car- not parts. Cash up front. serious only need apply. Car could be sold at any time. My cell phone 0160-98-506040 at night, or weekends. If you should desire to place your bid.

ZBLKHELLRZR, Frame is bent like an elongated "S" dude, the motor is sitting a little sideways.

it would cost way, way, way, more than it is worth to repair that.

much better to take the money and get an LS-1 or a Corvette.

well, I am not that bad. After all, I do tend to drive it like a rally car.

On another topic, I keep hearing rumors that people would like to talk to me about the LT-1. well.

IF YOU DO NOT GET IN TOUCH WITH ME, I CAN NOT HELP YOU. PERIOD.

If the insurance companies do not take the LT-1, JOHN FROM THE VILSECK CLAN WILL HAVE FIRST CHOICE.

I seems she only reads the board when I post something like that. Go figure. I did get a little love tap in the back of the head though.

Sven you may be in luck. I found a Red 99 LS1 Z28 w/ only 10,000 miles on it! Perfect condition owned by a young lady. HOPEFULLY they'll be getting in touch w/ me. I didn't ask the price but I did tell them about this place and gave them a card. Told them we buyers here so hope that take it seriously instead of trading it in at the dealer which they were trying to do.
