Hey Rob,
The weather in El Paso has been pretty mild. Mid to upper 60's. My tan is coming along nicely. Got one more week to work on it before I have to sign in. Been thinking about you guys and have been missing the autobahn. The cops in El Paso are as plentiful and wheat bugs in the summer. Way things are looking should see you soon.
Chris
P.S. I installed 3.42 gears in the Phoenix. Whoa baby does she fly. Just can't keep gas in it for some reason. I smoked a 2001 Trans Am the other night. You would have been proud. Waiting for you to get your car over here.

Z... glad to hear from you. Looks like I won't be going over there for a bit. Just got a IFSTE of 180 days. Ol' CPT Bethel ain't getting rid of me yet. Where did you end up at? You make it to the mighty 6th BDE?
Rob

I'm off to Fuerteventura tomorrow morning.
Sun, sea and 70 degrees.
But I scraped my car while parking it this morning. Rats!

Looks like we may be holding a F-Body Europe gathering in another location. I will be getting my sun tan probably late next week.

I like the sunburn... It was in the upper 70s today. How was that mid 20s there? Should be back in a couple of weeks. And the sunburn should be a tan by then.
Hawk... got an IFSTE. 180 days stopmove. DEROS 28 SEP 03. Now if we can just hurry up and woop some a$$ and get back, I might have a chance to run my car before I put her on the boat. I will have the Hawk stir fried with some sweet and sour sause.
Rob

I just got back from Fuerteventura today.
Fuerteventura means "strong wind" and it just happened to be blowing for 3 days solid and it's weird when the sun is shining and you've still got goosebumps. Could have sandblasted some panels had I thought. I'm glad to say that the sun shone brightly for 3 days and I got my sun tan but the sea was too dang cold to go swimming.
Those first 3 days, I hired a car for the grand total of 75 Euros. Well, I say a car, it was actually the last shape Corsa. What a pig, the steering was non-power and I swear the front wheels were pointing in different directions. I found out why when I discovered numerous unmade roads with transverse ridges that rattled your fillings out. If nothing else, it was a testimony to GM build quality that the car ran over 20 miles at 40mph along these roads without breaking. Still hated the car. How I envied those Clio and Punto drivers....
"Buy a Corsa - show the world you know nothing about cars"
But I'd skip Fuerteventura - more dead rock than Black Sabbath, windier than an old age pensioner for a lot of the time and 7 days was more than enough. Stick to Lanzarote (7 days is enough there too).
