Does anyone know if it is safe.... or is anyone currently running slicks on the stock rear end? Mine isn't completely stock I'm running a 3.73 gears... high perf bearings and the TA rear end cover... but I still have the stock axles and carrier... but before I spend the $$ on some slicks I just want to make sure the rear isn't going to blow on me... Later all!

well, guess the weakest link will give - if the tires aren't, something else will ... from what I read before, stock rear end and slicks don't mix too well ...

Be careful if you do go with the slicks. My stock rear with 3.23 didn't enjoy my drag radials at the track and let it be known on the autobahn. I am very lucky that the rear didn't lock up. I made it home (barely) only to find that the pinion gear broke apart.
