Hey Silas Ray gets his Cobra tomorrow and he is coming to the Test and tune to race you. By the way I got the SC on and it pulls third like it is second. It has turned in to a monster and it loves the boost. I got the clutch at the shop I just got to put it in. But I may not be able to go to the test and tune next month. I got a n e-mail to go to greece to bullfight for the rodeo there. They pay for my flight and motel. But I have to see what my unit says first. I was looking forward to running you again. As far as the Danix guy I dont have time to do his car. I just picked up a 91 camaro z28 and I will be putting it back together to sale. I did get to race this weekend though I raced my camaro against a mustang coupe. He told me he thought it was a 12 sec car. I told him he was on crack he only had gears, cold air, underdrive pullys. I told him he could race my 14 sec camaro he kind of laughed but when I beat him by 2 car lengths he stopped laughing. I also raced my stang on sat against another stang. He had GT40 heads match ported and 1.7 roller rockers, cold air intake, eldebrock rpm intake, long tube heades, off road pipe. He got me off the start and I was doing nothing but spinning 1st and 2nd, He had 2 car lengths on me so I shifted at 4500 in 2nd and just mashed it got 7 lbs of boost and flew by him. I was down 2 car lengths and won by 2 or more. my clutch was smoking afterward but what the hell it was fun to see his face as I went by him. He said he thought he had me till he looked over at me and I was smiling at him as I went by.

Tell Ray we don't have to wait til next month we can go now! Been wanting a piece of that car ever since I laid eyes on it yrs ago. A63 is always empty eh-eh.......... and we can go from a dead stop out there too if he wants because I know that's his bread and butter. :) As for you hurry and get the clutch in! That way I can say I ran 2 boosted Stangs and lost! ;)

I just finished fixing all my exhaust leaks too so I know I have and extra 1hp just enough to loose by a 1/4 panel.

Bruce? Don't know who you are kidding EVERYONE knows your talk is weak and the Hawk is NEVER slow.

Sounds good (considering the possible problems)! Hope you do get it up and running! Timing system is ready and waiting to measure your times ;)

yeah, I'm back...................

I told you once, and I'll tell you again. If your running a street race against a boosted 4v, especially from a roll, get ready to carve up the crow.

John ya know I'm not taking anything from you, but just so ya know whats going on in the mustang world, even the mighty 03 runs scared from a vorteched/procharged 98+ snake (even though the cobra heads are differant, 99+ are the best btw) a buddy of mine just put down 500rwhp+ with 12psi and bolt ons in a '01 cobra.

Sounds like a fun race, and I look forward to hearing about it. Oh, yeah, I got 20 on the snake if he is for real

Peace
Rob

Rob I'll let ya know how it turns out! You might want to keep that 20 though? He may run me in the 1/4 but HE WILL NOT OUTRUN ME in topend. Just ain't happening. There I said it! Make that Crow extra crispy! :)

I got a $100 on the Hawk. In a rolling situation say anywhere between 5- 150MPH. I would be willing to double that if you feel brave. LOL
Not taking anything away from your car but the GM 5.7 LS1 rocks let me know the Hawk has a appetite for some Ford meat. John I will take care of your light work.

*Cackle* its all good John and Hawk. Thats why we all have our opinions :)

Hawk I have another question, you with your current setup, you think your above statement would stand up to a little 'ol 4.6 2003 cobra with 1 (one) ((single)) bolt on? I'm ignoring the exhaust (not LT's), slicks and CAI cuz thats pretty much standard data. Think about this a second before you answer, we arent talking about a lightning pulley on the cobra either.

OFF TOPIC: I dont know if you guys keep up with this stuff, but Bob Cosby (founder of "The Corral" mustang message board) got a new best of 11.6something in his 99 cobra. He dynoed 313rwhp btw. Mad Props Bob!!

Hey John I cant wait tillI see you and Ray go at it. As far as I go I wil have the clutch in this weekend. I am pulling a lot harder now especially in 3rd. As far as the cobra goes you know that ray can drive. And sweeny take your slicks off and run Ray with street tires and lets see the out come. And I cant wait to get a time slip for mine I know I am deep in the 12s. Depending on if I buy this camaro tomorrow I may order a G-Tech.

How did he run that quick with only 313hp? Wait, it's a Mustang so that must be in the 1/8th mile... Just kidding! But 11.6 with 313? Must have hooked up good.

11.6 seems awfully low for 313hp ... maybe it's really on the 1/8th :P

8) but you'd have no problem believing an LS1 ran 11's stock on street tires I bet?

okay doubters, first I was wrong, it was only 312rwhp. The long block is bone stock. only shortie headers/cai/ported maf housing along with a autologic chip. Suspension consist of aftermarket LCA's. Swap a live axle in there with 4.56 gears, and you have mid 11's.

But since we dont believe me...

AFAIK, stock LS1s are in the 13s ... that's why I said 11s are pretty low for a 313hp car ...

Rob that guy drove the snot out of that Cobra! His 60ft is killer. If he drove my car like that it would be a 10 sec car easy. Damn man that guy can drive. It is always driver when it comes to races for the most part if both cars are equal. I don't doubt SC Cobra's but he still isn't gonna outrun me. :)

80Killer I'm looking forward to a rematch and tell Ray lets go today! Get that clutch in so we can go at it this wkend!

He used to run in one of the NMRA's stock style divisions(dont know whats up for this year) and you arent allowed to change much, if anything. Yeah the driver is definatelly the most important part for sure.

I kinda lost track, did those small gremlins get worked out of your setup? I know you got some serious mojo also 8)

Yeah I got all the kinks worked out. She still runs rich even w/ the psi down to 36.5 but I know that has to do w/ the programming. She doesn't run hot so it's not running lean. And yes she pulls. It's torque down low but not gut wrenching torquey but alot more powerful than the old 350. It shines above 3500rpm though. It pins you to the seat all the way up to 7K. Anything from 60mph you can forget about it.

You never did answer the question. BTW the bolt on in question is a kenny bell twin screw super charger. Its a one for one swap, you dont have to upgrade anything, and your handy, dandy 2003 cobra will spit out over 650 rwhp with 20-22psi. Just so ya know, its a $3700 upgrade kit to include fasteners.

The stock block so far has sucked up 26 psi with not so much as a whimper. They no longer have a ferrari crank or a german block (puff out my chest here :) ) but they have MUCHO balls in the strength dept.

I drove a '03, and let me tell ya'...you better be packing. They dyno 370-390rwhp (sound familiar????It should, they are underated like the LS1 and then some).
