Jack, how long have you been in Germany now? How come it's so hard to believe?
For special events, with a limited number of days per year, dB-limits might be increased (like Hockenheim for the F1 runs). Apart from that, it's 98 like the german laws require ... (or was it 95 for street cars?)

95 for street cars which I already stretch out more than to the max with 98 +2
but I thought California is also something like a US State,
and they got similar rules...
where you may get your QUIET racing parts from...
 shut up squirrel sorry<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

OK, noise: At the Ring they allow about 100 dB (signs say 95 dB, but the guy who measured said 100 dB is OK), if part of the steel wool hadn't come out the 1st 4 laps maybe Roy would've passed...
Apart from that it was a strange day... track was closed about 60-70% of the rest of the time, so you didn't miss much, Roy. Open... drove one lap... closed.......... open... drove one lap... closed.
A Porsche spilled oil the whole way from Karussel to Doettinger Hoehe. Track was closed for 1 1/2 - 2 hours because of that.

100 in praxis = ok ... like I said: 98 + 2 (= 100)
the 2 includes the difference for external noise/echo etc.

I'm putting the GMMG on this week, so we'll see how loud it is then. If it is still too loud, I will just suck it up and not go.

I got a phonemeter, if you want to,
you can experiment how loud you are and how much to do
to fit in the limitation,
we can measure open, closed, wool stuffed, whatever you want...
then you know what to do for the ring next time.
