I don't know.. Maybe because I need to grow up, and having this car doesn't really help.. :)

Jack I feel you! I think about it sometimes, but then I think of what I have gone through to get it where it is today. Eating Ramen noodles and $hit for two years while in Germany just so I could afford that car and try and make it faster. Now that I have money it seems to have been worth because most of it is done now. I think the biggest reason for keeping your car is, it's an enjoyable hobby, and for me it keeps me sane from bordum. If I could just keep it on the road longer than it was in the garage.....

I know what you mean about that last part, Mike! ;) When I think about how much, or little, I would get for it, it makes me sick to my stomach.. I'd be lucky to get what I owe on it.. It would be pretty dumb to sell it, unless I would make a decent profit off of it.. It's my only bill, aside from insurance, so that is another thing keeping me from having already sold it.. What does your new wife think about your car?

Well not to worry because I'll be sick to my stomach for the both of us. I know I won't no where near what I put into it by a long shot but sometimes I suppose you have to count your losses. Mike you ain't got no big bonus coming your way?

I know you have put way more into yours than I have John, but at least yours is paid off. I know that's not much reassurance, but if mine was, it would definitely be easier. I know, though, that you would probably only get what you paid for your engine, and that is just S..A..D.....

Jack, I have a couple of questions. First, how is a Vette going to help you grow up? Second, how is that going to save you money? Why not keep what you have unless you are planning to get a Granny car and quit having fun (which I wouldn't do). Why not get it fixed and then take it a little easier on it most of the time? These are good cars, but no car will take hammering on it all most all of the time. Just food for thought. I just hate to see you get rid of your toy. All of us need our toys to keep our sanity.

I should have clarified my previous statement.. I know the 'vette would not help me with my problem.. It was just a nice thought.. If I got rid of the Z, I would probably wind up with another hooptie, so I could save a LOT of money.. :) Then when I PCSed, I'd get something else. :)

Thanks for the words!

Tell me about it Jack that is sad. But what choice do I have really. If I let is sit a couple of yrs then it'll just rot. And I mean it would be at least 5yrs down the road before touching it again. Imagine all the things that'll go bad in that timeframe that will need replacing ie, more money. No thanks. I've spent more than enough. If I could get 1/2 of what I put into it I'd be satisfied but that's with a operational vehicle which it is not.

Jeremy about sanity. I lost my sanity long ago......along w/ my wallet. The only thing keeping me from truly cracking is not spending anymore $$ on it. I'll just have to find another hobby til I can buy my 911T.

DAmn, John, I think I might become an engine tuner, just for you.. I want to be able to help fellow fbody loyalists.. I feel so bad for you, it hurts. I can't believe that after so many tears, and so much sweat, that you've had the kind of luck you've had.

I guess that's just the way the ball bounces. I've taken one too many lumps over the head and never payed attention to it so now it costs me big.

My stepfather is to blame for all of this. He cursed me prior to coming here saying "you sure you wanna send that over there"? What if it breaks down how you gonna get parts for it? I was like man this ain't 89' it's 00' we have the net.....ever heard of it? I swear I'm gonna smack the (&%@# out of him when I come home. He's gonna ask about it too and rub that crap in. But maybe he was right. Never had a problem til it got here. It was inevitable it just would've happened later down the road had I not sent it here. Only thing different would be I'd have more $$ in my pocket from not modding it up.

Jack,
Actually the wife loves it and would rather me keep it. She doesn't even mind me blowing money on it. Something is wrong there! Must be because we are newly-weds :D

John-Yeah I get 5G's a year until I get out, not including the 15g's I got up front which paid for all my toys. You think my dorm room was bad, you should see my apartment=phat! The first thing you see is my new homeboy(My parrot). 3 foot long Macaw! Joker cost me 2g's w/cage. He talks mad $hit to, it is hilarious, and what an attention getter.

Anyway, everbody just keep their cars, save some money, and maybe buy something else to keep your worries off the car!

P.S. John, you don't have to leave your car sitting for 5yrs. You know I will have a two car garage soon when I get the new house. I can hold it for you and make sure I start it EVERYDAY
