Good news - I am looking for new vehicle you just can't keep a good man down.
I am pleased to hear there some f-body's for sale both on this web and in the UK. So lets keep fingers crossed.
I'm also going to have a look at a HSV (holden Specialist Vehicle). Its from doen under but has the good old LS1 rated at 340BHP and over 370lb feet talk.
BUT, its a saloon car not a sports coupe!!?!?!?!?!
This might be a good buy as my little boy is growing at a fast rate??? I don't know but I'm going for a demo.
Its fully loaded, MASSIVE leather seats, 6 speed manual T56 box, a 3.9 hydratak rear diff.
AND the big one here - its go IRS. What ever we do to our f-body's we still have that IRS.
Its a big car, 1,700kg, but figures of 0-60 are quoted at 5.1 secs with a 1/4 under 14 secs - this doesn't sound much different to a stock Z28.
The one I'm looking at is at
http://www.hsv.com.au/cars/classics/classics.html - click on clubsport and R8.
and has the premium package including those bits listed in the R8 extra section which includes enhanced suspension, 18" rims, 330mm front discs and 315mm rear discs.
And is got a true dual 56mm exhaust system. Might be a bit quite for me - lets get rid of those mufflers.
Saloon car or coupe??
Big thing is, I'll end up doing all the bits again to another Zee where as this has got them done. So O can always then concentrate on power enhancements....
Ths HSV is supposed to handle exceptionally well. The one I'm looking at is supposed to be able to kill an M£, where as the supercharged version is supposed to kill and M5. Well worth a demo I think.
