Hm ... anybody interested in a 98 Camaro Convertible?
Hope you'll be able to replace it in time with another F-Body again ...

I assume the WS6 is US spec? How hard is it to get a US spec car through the TUV? Just curious...

It´s possible, even though you have to do some modifications and get some special papers for the different parts from TUV which state for example that the lights are as good as euro spec (costs some EURs).
But since 1998 red turing signals are not allowed anymore on german cars, so you have to find a special solution for this...

Oh, that don't sound to bad. I have heard alot of bad things about the TUV, so I figured you would just have to bring your own KY and take it. Or just bring alot of Jack Daniels.

Yes, it is US specs. The car is in Belgium, about 4 hrs from Manheim Germany.
The build number is 2562 and she was born on Aug 27, 2001.
If you email me, I can get some good pics of her to you.
Thanks

I was going to say: Did you think about asking another insurance company?
There is one in Ramstein specialized on US cars. Not that expensive.

I’ve been with USAA for 3 yrs now. I’ve never had a ticket nor been involved in an accident. Last month my insurance bill was $573.00. Thing is you pay a tax on your insurance policy over here. I think I pay around $1000 a yr just in taxes on the policy. I shopped around, and Geico wanted around 11k a yr without a 3 yr letter from someone. After the letter $6500 a yr.

NEVER BEEN RIDEN (until I get back from this god for saken TDY) 2003 Yamaha YZF R6.. now all of that and my home owners insc.. and I pay $150 a month (the ticket killed me I was down to 115/mo) .. you're getting screwed somewhere!

Yes, I too think this is BS. Paying this much for car insurance is not, or at least shouldn’t be, legal in my opinion. People pay less on $150,000 homes in a month. And that includes some sort of homeowners insurance. I’ve argued for countless hrs with the company, but they still say this is the amount owed for this yr. I used to pay around 4k, but for some reason, and they can’t seem to tell me why, the price went up over 2k in one yr. USAA told me that it was all due to the fact that I’m 23, and that many cars like ours are stolen in Belgium. Everyone here is limited to insurance here, due to the Belgium Gov. being tightwads and all. I’m not throwing away 6-7k a yr due to others not having the ability to drive safe and some not having the ability to keep their grimy hands off stuff that is not theirs. I’ve been madder than hell for 2 months now. Sorry.

Sorry R@m, I know you want this car, but I got to say this. I would register the TA non-op, then buy a beater, then take the TA with you when you PCS. Maybe your high priced insurance is a Belguim thing, like you said. I payed for 2 fbodies and 2 beaters at one point, and it didn't get over $120 with USAA. Then again I am old as ^*, but still. Just my $.02

R@mmy... Well PCS = Permanent Change of Station, it is an Army term for when they move you to another post or something. I was just saying that Hendew69 should keep the car and stop the insurance, until he goes back to the states.
I am cool with a BBQ, when where? It will have to be close, I don't know how far the tranny will make it on Paula's Z. Don't get me started. That will be a conversation for the BBQ and a rack of Erdinger.

Drinking contest? Where did you get that from? I was talking about sitting around BSing, drinking some beer, not that mineral water (Miller light)that you were talking about. I really can't believe that you have always wanted to see Giebelstadt. It isn't the biggest town.
