Just curious what you all thought GM was gonna do next year? Here is my take

The GTO will flop, just another mid 14sec (if that) car with 4 doors
The Corvette will rest on its butt and change nothing. Z06 will maybe be a 445hp car.

Dodge breaks out with 1 or 2 Hemi powered sport coupes

Ford announces the 500hp Cobra (thru a super cooler....read more about it in your ford magazine :) )
Lightning comes back with 500hp+

Let me know. But seriously, if you were to buy a new car tomarrow, would you all be driving Z06's or Impalla's?

I plan to hold on the one I have. However if I got to buy a new car it would prolly be the LS6 powered GTO with Nitrous.

I saw a new ad from Chevrolet in a german car mag (they got that ad out of a american mag, don´t know which):
There´s the back of a 1968(?) Camaro SS, then some lyrics from the Ramones "Go li´l Camaro go, ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh..." and the Chevrolet logo with the slogan "We´ll be there".

Hmm. Some people say that might be a evidence for a new f-body soon,
otherwise that ad makes no sense.
I´ll put it on the scanner when i´m at home.

But your right, at the moment there´s no car from GM except the Z06 (which I could never afford) that i would want to buy... :(
And that Ford supercooler stuff is pretty cool!

It will be interesting to see how powerful Ford will go. They now have the Chevy problem of having to distance their cars from the expensive 500hp GT40.

If the GT40 is a total success, could we yet see a productionised "stock" GT40 type vehicle to take on the Corvette....

The Z06 is the Chevy I want but to hell with total performance, the lack of a removeable roof is a major drawback to the car's appeal.

Whoa!!!

The Ford GT (you guys, ie England wouldnt let them use the trademarked "GT40" name  ) will be basically exactly like the cover of Car and Driver said....."The Return of the Ferrari Slayer" It should be on par with the Saleen S7. No disrespect, but its way past a Z06. Of course thats reflected in the 125k+ price tag.

Should be a pretty good match up in the forseeable future.

Z06 will get some more oats, but still wont beat the Viper. Getting Close though

Chryslers Sport Coupe's sound interesting, and should match up well with the GTO.

Lightning will have to contend with the V10 Ram (should be interesting), and the SS Silvarado is trying to enter the fray, but should stay on the porch a year or two more. Its kinda outgunned in everyway, shape and form.

The Cobra if it is true will be more than a straight line match with the Z06, but still not in the same league of handling, braking so it will still get smoked once the turns start.

The MACH 1 has no direct competition, its the GT Ford never built. 32V quad cammer (straight out of the 99, 01 Cobra) with a live axle. Nothing really special about the car, would have been a good match up with a 2004 Z or Firebird.

yeah, :) I like to speculate
