Well, amazingly, after 10 years, my youngest daughter from my first marriage turned up out of the blue. She'll be 16 at the end of this month.
Reunion aside, which went extraordinarily smoothly and well, she absolutely loved the car, especially after a full tilt run in it. Having been schooled in the ways of Clio 16v's and the like (she seems to have inherited my petrolhead gene), she couldn't believe how fast the Zed was and needless to say, we had to stop to talk to every one of her friends so she could introduce them to the car!
Surprisingly, all the junior rice club were openly drooling over it (I suppose the stripes help...) and what with "2 Fast, 2 Furious" playing up the power of "American Muscle", we may see a resurgence of interest.
A friend of mine with a Corvette was recently inundated by a gang of youths who'd just been to see the film, enquiring as to whether it was "American Muscle".
But I'll tell you what, it's weird suddenly having a 16 year old daughter.

Very good to hear it was a happy reunion. After that much time it can be quite difficult!
As far as the new found interest goes, I think the respect for american muscle has always been around, it's just the cost factor that keeps a lot of youth away! It's one thing to buy the car, then insure it, mod it, maintain it, oh and did I forget KEEP GAS IN IT
It's a hobby/passion that comes with a price! I hate the cost, but my money has got to go somewhere...

Expensive?
That darn 600 SL i had as a weekend replacement burned 24l / 100km.
Compared to that the Z is a diesel!

It depends on how and where you drive. When I'm on the Ring I'm close to 30 Liters/100 km which is about 8 mpg, on my way going there it's an average of 10 Liters/100 km (24 mpg). OK, could be that the SL maybe there uses 40 Liters/100km or more... so yeah, the Camaro is expensive inexpensive.

600 SL
120 mph: 24 liters
140 mph: 27 liters
170 mph: over 35...
Well, it rocks, but i never pushed the Z over 17, even at 150+ mph

Ram: Yes, the highest in normal public traffic that I got was also around 17 l/100km. That was - if I remember correctly - a lot of stop and go traffic through the city day for day...
