Just bought a 98 Camaro Z28. I am now in my fifth one, gotta love being at the right place at the right time.

I got a real good deal on it, (long story), Its a 98 Z28 black with the RS ground effects package and chrome 16's which will be changing soon. Its an Automatic but for the price who cares!

That makes one of eack engine...

305 TBI (91 RS)
350 TPI (92 RS)
350 LT1 (94 Z28)
350 LS1 (98 Z28)

Out of all of them I still like the LT1 the best, I like the acceleration it has. I don't know if that has some thing to do with the LS1 being an Auto.

Ohh well time to enjoy

Later
John

Problem? I'm the one with the problem if I only have one F-Body. If it really bothers you, I'll trade you my VW for any one (or more) out of your collection.
Congrats and have fun with your toys!

The LT1 is going down this weekend for a major overhaul, I know I have been talking about it for ever and a day now. I mean it this time, I have been too busy with my other projects to start it but now I have time. It might even be up for Bitburg but no promises.

You'll have to fill me in on the bitburg trip, when, where, time....

John

Probably more to do with the LS1 being more refined because it's definitely faster over the quarter. Having said that, pitting mine against an LT1 stock for stock, the LS1 only consummated it's advantage after the 1/8th mile when the LT1 was running out of breath and the LS1 was still running for the red line.

A loud freeflow exhaust is a must, porting the TB costs nothing, the EGR mod is free, some form of better-breathing intake is useful and oddly, the SLP timing tricker seemed to have a good effect on my car. It seems more responsive.

I am on my second F body- I had an LT-1 now I have an LS-1- and I agree.

The LT-1 has a much beter "take off" from slower speeds and driving around at street legal speeds the motor hits ferociously with it's broad powerband....

But... turn it up a couple notches....at higher speeds..... and the LS-1 "wakes up" and leaves the LT-1 trailing behind significantly with that "top end power band" that the LT-1 simply does not have.
