Just thought I would gloat. Its not often, that on a single weekend we can watch the US Grand Prix (go Schumi!!!!!!), the GT series (go Saleen S7's!!!!) and the EA 500 at Talledaga (go Jr!!!!!!!)

The best racers on tracks I like at times I can actually watch.

If we could just get a NHRA event today (go Force!!!! BTW  ) it would be motorsport nirvana.

And the CHAMP CARS are running in Downtown MIAMI ( go Paul and Jimmy ! )

I have been like Mr. Nascar since I was born (God Bless Dale). Now with next year there will be no "Winston Cup," its the "Nextel Cup." "76" no longer wants to extend their contract of sposoring fuel, and with in the next couple of years they want to do away with tobacco and alchol sponsors. And the reason behind all of this... they want the younger crowd. They are no longer in for the good ole fashioned sport of racing, its all about the money. I fell the reason people like Mark Martin, Rusty Wallance, and Tony Stewart are loosing is due to the fact they all have younger team mates and thats where the majority of the fundings are going. To me younger drivers equal younger which equals mo' money, mo money, mo money. Its all about tv ratings and money. Nobody is in for the love anymore :(
So next year from time to time I will check in on Nascar, only because I have Daytona and Brickyard tickets.
And Go Kevin Harvick!!!!!!!!

dont forget that toyota will have a truck in 2005, and probably a car in '07 in cup.

If they are so worried about equal performance from the makes, then its time to go IROC and seal the engines and the trannies. That way the team just has to slap a ford, dodge, pontiac or chevy sticker on.

The new series I'm following now is the SCCA. They go to the tracks like Willow springs, Laguna Seca, Road America, etc.

We are starting to get a broader coverage of SCCA, that stuff really rocks. The european makes dominate right now, but its mostly due to number of european vs. us vs. asian makes.
