Fucking Germans. This doesn't apply to all so lay off. 1st they screw Ryan over at Opel and his rearend. Fucking munched his gears on the rearend. Told them it needs reshiming DO NOT DRIVE. What do they do? Fucking start the goddamn car and hear this beast and roll the "He said doin the nasty" out! No later than 24 hrs they call me because he's on emergency leave saying they need to order new gear set. Why does he need a new gear set when there is already 4.10s out back? Not only do they want to put new gears they want to just order a whole new rearend for the comfy price of 1970 euro! What did they do? Joy rided in the bitch broke the teeth on the pinion and knew they couldn't fix so they put it all back in w/ some bullshit ass gear lube that smells like baby "He said POOP" and put the chips in the bag and stow it underneath the seat. Then have the nerve to tell us in a polite dumb way it's not there problem. Cost hime 600 bucks for someone else to "He said doin the nasty" his gears up and then toe it back home. Luckily he brought a new stk 3.42 set back from the states and we fixed it in 2 mothafuckin hrs!!!!!!!!!!! Oh but it gets even better.

See my post in the LT1 section to understand this.
Picked my "He said POOP" up this past thurs and have valvetrain noise from hell. They said everything is "perfect" come back in 500 miles and we'll adjust the valves. Bitch ass doofus. WE change plugs and wires in 2 hrs readjust the valves twice and still can't figure out why some rocker are loose regardless. So after being perturbed for hrs we said the hell w/ it and tear it down intake, and heads 2 hrs. Head bolts were not torqued but hand tight, oil sump bracket is broken, metal shavings in the lifter tray galley, o-rings from the injectors missing and header bolts were hand tight as well w/ no rtv on the bitch's.

What in god's name do we see once the head is off? I always said it was metallic in sound. 2 of the 4 pistons were jet black while the other 2 were pristine. Wipe the bitches down and guess what we see? That's right valves kissing the pistons!!!!!!!!! Wanna know why? The assholes didn't take the time to install the pistons correctly. 4 pistons read intake, exh. Instead of intake, exh for piston #1 and piston number 3 reads exh, intake!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention 2 on the left back are damaged as well. So that also tells you the ass didn't check piston to valve clearance before installing the heads. They just slapped the pistons in and slapped the heads on and rolled out. As soon as it was fired up for the 1st time the pistons were toast! 1 thousand gotdamn dollars in pistons gone at idle on the 1st mothafuckin crank of the ignition!!!!!!!!!! But they said everything was "perfect" Not only that my valves now have to be replaced not to mention new lower valve seats because they took mine and shimed it w/ some bullshit ass shims. My heads were assembled professionally w/ all shims, stems, retainers, etc. Why the hell would I see copper shims on the bottom w/ no seats? Oh ya better believe a n!@@a bout to get ugly come tomorrow morning. Not only did I get sabatoged at the track but now I get the exact same thing by a mechanic. And you want to know even more irony in this? We popped a valve cover friday night to see a 2 inch screw laying in the head. How fuckin great is that?

SO if you want something done by German mechs do it yourself at least when it comes to your fbody. Warranty or not they "He said doin the nasty" "He said POOP" up. Jack is livin testament to that.

Edit this or not I don't give a "He said doin the nasty". I'm just letting it be known and I had to get this off my chest. I've been patient over the yrs w/ this car and it's not the cars fault but that was it. I WILL BE UP and RUNNING in 5wks because I'm doing it my gotdamn self w/the help of Ryan and cherry picker courtesy of Ray. Thanks Ray I owe ya big.

I'm fuckin out!

PS don't worry I'm collectin my money back because his ass gave it to a close friend of mine to buy parts for him. I just paid for storing fees if ya wanna look at it like that. 400 bucks I can't get but who knows how tomorrow will turn out.

***speechless*** it will take awhile to process this.

With all the "technically" superiour BMW and Mercedes engines, makes me wonder why a SBC that dates back to the 50's is so hard to work on correctly?

Good luck John, and dont give them a reason to collect insurance on they're burned down garage, atleast make sure they are in it when it goes up.

  Get a lawyer. Go to JAG, whatever. You need to get this taken care of. Gather up all of your receipts and get them to pay. Have them pay for the labor as well. This is the reason Opel Kannenberg in Mannheim got shut down a while back. Get something from them before they get shut down.
Contact GM Europe and let them know the story. They heard my horror storys and had me take my car to a Corvette shop south of Frankfurt. Unfortunatly, that guy didn't want to listen to me and insisted that my tranny was bad. It was just the starter drive gear bouncing off of the flexplate. Anyways, got a new GM tranny put in for no charge. Back to the original story... Start making phone calls and let GM know how upset that you are. How you assumed that their mechanics would know how to fix your car, not destroy it. Just don't piss them off and they should help you out. Good Luck.

In Ryan's case he is going to the JAG. My case however is slightly different. No receipts of any kind. The one thing I did sign he gave to me the original receipt. No documentation can go both ways. I'm not worried either way. I'm fixin my car one way or the other. If I can get my old pistons back 4 may be salvageable since they only logged 5K on them. Just have to make sure they weigh roughly the same as the current ones to not upset the balance and upper rpm visits.

GM Europe will get to the bottom of this for you. Gm europe was more than helpful in my claim against Opel hause Kastel. I guess that is why their not servicing these vehicles anymore there.

Damn dude I guess I shouldn't have read this thread, I'm getting TT Pi$$ed all over again. I guess we can look at it this way in a few weeks you and I will be laying ruber down at the opel dealership with a big FUC@ YOU sign. After we do that we can go everywhere else that has screwed us over. And for anyone out there that may question this thread and may consider dropping your car off somewhere, make sure you find someone that has had some good luck with them first. Just my unlucky 2Cents
