Texas is the 3rd largest state of the US
and normally it takes 10 hours to cross Texas on the Interstate.

Sorry you are 0 for 2 on that one. You would have to be going pretty fast to cross TX in 10 hours... I'm not saying it can't be done, but it might cost you alot if you get caught. It is almost 14 hours on I-10. Have driven it many-a-time. That's at it's widest point though. And TX is the 2nd largest, only to Alaska.

hm... I guess I got to pay closer attention to what I read,
just in an article as I was in the states recently - but researching now: you are right, it is the 2nd largest.

Now the 10 miles is what a Texas Girl told me a month ago.
She must drive pretty fast than.
BTW: I drove with the rental from Louisiana to Atlanta on
the I 20 with an average of 85 mph... always looking out for
the corners, good thing that the passenger was asleep :twisted:

i did that I20 drive about a year ago but i was going the other way started in augusta, GA and got off of 20 in shreaveport. Louisiana. went on for a while ended up in enid OK took over 20 hours.

Atlanta - Shreveport - Crestview 19 hrs
Crestview - almost Texarkana - Atlanta 22 hrs including
a 3 hour tour through the Battleship USS Alabama and the submarine
and of course including waffle houses and lunches (2 drivers)

I guess you took 70 or i think thats what it is from shreavport to texarkana cause texarkana was where we stoped my wifes parents were living there at the time

Small world. I can't believe two people on the board know where Texarkana is. I lived in that area until I finished high school. I was born about 40 miles away and finished high school about 65 miles from there. Texarkana was where we went when we wanted to go to the city, Ha Ha. It was the closest town with more than 5,000 population.

Just for your info, from Texarkana to El Paso is closer to 16 hours. I have driven it in one day and it almost killed me. Texas is definitely a huge state. Out west, they don't measure ranches in acres, they measure them in square miles. I knew a guy in West Texas who owned over 150 square miles. Big Country.
