Last december I found a K&N FIPK at CamaroZ28.Com from a man, who had 2 of them and wanted to sell one. He told me, that he got one for his birthday. His name is Shawn M. Berry from Hanover Park,IL

After giving him the money he wanted for the kit (290 USD) inclusive shipping the parcel came to me some weeks later. I was astonished, that some important things were missing.

The heatsheald and a little filter were not in the parcel, some other little things not so important were not there.

My emails to him are not answered :( :( :(

What could I do ???? Any ideas ????

Martin

Heatshield? Do you mean the big metal piece that goes over the radiator, and which the actual filter element bolts on to? If so, that is a major part, and you can't really use it without it. How did you pay? If you used Paypal, you could contact them and complain. If not, then you might be one of the many who get screwed on the 'net, and there's not a whole lot you can do.

Yes, that metal thing is missing - and I know, that it is necessary, because the air coming into the filter element should be cold.

I payed with PayPal, but complaining ??? What could they do ???

You're screwed without the plate as it replaces the original piece and hooks over the radiator and keeps it in place. I have the extra filter if it's any help - not needed for the '98 .

You could try e-mailing him and, if you know his address, you could try bluffing him and say you've commenced legal action. That might get a response.

Jim Pace was the cheapest I could find for the K&N FIPK but I wouldn't recommend him at all. Bad experience. Failing that, you could try K&N direct. I found them very helpful.

Having said that, I'd buy a lid. I had to drill my base plate to let some cold air in as it was sucking hot air.

Yeah, that thing does not work if you don't have ram air. I found that out after spending $250 on mine. Anyway, contact Paypal, and they will get your money back. That is one of the benefits of using their services. They are very consumer friendly! ;) Good luck!

Yes, I´m interested in buying your little filter. Tell me how much you want to have for it.

May be, I have some pounds here from my last stay in Bournemouth  :D

Also I have made a request to k&n ....

You could also post about the guy being a bad seller on CZ28 and LS1.com. I've done that a couple times and man... you get QUICK results that way unless the person wants to be jacked forthe rest of their lives in the F-Body world. :)

E-mail me your address and you can have it. We're talking the small filter that goes on the end of some pipe, not the main filter which I guess you MUST have or all you'd have is a few screws... Part no is 62-1120.

It's been sent.. It was extremely cheap so don't feel guilty about the cost. If you don't worry about it, neither will I. :o

No problemo, they were just cluttering up the place and had I kept them, I'd only have done something stupid with them.
