Hey John,
I PCSd to Kapaun 2 years ago (big move, Ramstein to Kapaun ). I was assigned to the USAFE Special Maintenance Team which spends about 280 days a year on the road; I spent a lot of time down in Turkey. After I put on MSgt I moved to a new position and my days of going TDY were numbered. Last December I moved back to Ramstein to the 86/435CG where I'm hating life. Trying to get a job at 1st Combat Comm now.
Still working at Kapaun Auto Hobby. Hell, you can't miss the orange 78 sitting out in the lot, that should have been a dead giveaway that I was still here. Its my coffin, so I can't get rid of it...
What's with all the cars? I'm a packrat, what can I say. I have the property to park them on, why not. Although, the Volvo and the Astro are going to the yard in a day or two.

I'm still going to show up with family. Is anyone else bringing their "better half"(just in case the wife reads this post). Come rain or shine we will be there!

I'm in Combat Comm. What is your career field, and what shop are you trying to get into. Maybe I can put in a word for you.

Thanks Mav..I have a meeting setup with the ACOMG/CC to decide my fate in a few weeks. My assignment at 1st Comm Maint turned out to be an absolute bummer and I took the first thing I could get. The new USAFE/SC is an old commander of mine and talked to him today...I told him to send me to the 1st Combat Comm. We'll see.
Are you going to Bitburg for the ex?

Good idea. You want the exhaust now, or when you get back for good?

That's cool. No, I wont be in the ex, I am testing for Tech that week. Otherwise, I would be there.
Good luck,

Ironically, I'll be there on the 21st. 1st Comm was my dad's first unit when he was in the AF. He'll be here next week and he's been invited to visit the unit in the field at Bit. I think its cool that STAN/EVAL's going to pause the exercise for him.
