I knew it ... as things like our laws and TV programs have suggested for a while already, but now we know for sure - Europe is finally nearing the US as far as children intelligence seems concerned ...

After the US has already outlawed the Überraschungs-Eggs for some time, in fear of a child eating not only the chocolate, but also the contents (usually plastic toys), some EC politicians have started put in for a similar law in Europe ...

The question is, why ... as has been mentioned, there hasn't been a single incident known to date where a child got harmed by such an egg ... and even if, it should be the parent's responsibility to watch over their child if it's too young to play with such a toy itself - but why outlaw it for the rest? That's like, say, outlawing eating knifes and forks as a kid could harm itself with them ... what a stupidity ... and they get paid for things like that ...

You are right Garry. Government has become the parents in America. Sorry to hear that the Geman politicans are looking at the way we do things. It is the parents responsability to watch thier children and monitor there actions(not the governments). That is why we have so many screwed up people in America. We all hope that your government dosen't adopt children devorcing thier parents bull sh!t. This is just the begining!

LOL @ Lusi! I can't believe some people sell extensive collections of this junk at flea markets. What's the deal? Would someone actually display this crap in their house?

Apart from the basic stupidity, there's also stupidity on the sides of courts and official places ... just read this in the paper today ...
A guy receiving social help has sued the state to not only pay his social help, but also pay for (drumroll):

occasional whore house visits (something like 4 per month), including cab fare
    8 porn movies per month
other sex stuff to support his "self-service"

based on the fact that his wife is now living on the Philipines again (where she was from).

Luckily, the judge has denied these claims.

Anyway, according to the article, he has another 30some claims open ...
talk about wasting money ...

I believe that this is exactly the problem:
it is NOT that kids (and adults) do not have plenty of media
(computer, TV, magazines, DVDs...)
More studying material is provided, more information.

The problem is that this large amount on brain input comes unsorted
and mixed in with useless information which makes easier reading...
some kids know that santa and easter bunny are unreal,
but according to the news thousands of kids let their tank fish go free
into the toilet after watching 'Nemo'?
(and this was another worthless press release...)

So no wonder some people think they got to put a sticker on the
toilet: "not a fish tank". Or say that kids eggs are dangerous.

That's a good one , but if Garry wants to stimulate his mind by reading other peoples stupidity--I say "let him".

It's OK to act stupid some time just as it is in leagl limits. Just funny to hear that there are people out there that actually try these things. What are they thinking?

Not a point of "stimulating my mind" by other people's stupidity ... I only worry about the fact that the majority of people seems to be stupid, and that political decisions are based on the votes of the majority of the people ... I guess you get the picture ...
Apart from that, I don't think (m)any people can complain about the stuff I say I would get done ...

Roy, don't succumb to their disbelief. Stick to your beliefs, and don't let anyone convince you that they are wrong. :D
