Well, if you expect to see anything from me in the kills section, or expect to see my 1/4 miles times, you can FORGET ABOUT IT! I'm so on the verge of selling this POS- you can't even begin to believe it. I will make the meets, and I will make many of the Bitburg events, but I am not putting myself in any more of these situations where the only thing to come out of it is a depleted bank account. This is ridiculous, and if I could have ever anticipated it before I bought this damn car, I WOULDN'T HAVE BOUGHT IT!
I'm sorry for ranting, but I just can't believe the cost to fix this $hit. It's @#$%ing pathetic! Don't ever expect anything from anyone, and don't do anyone any favors.

I take it you got your estimate back. How bad was it, if you don't mind me asking. Sorry for your misfortune! Things will get better!

Jack,
Go online and find "Billy Graham Auto Salvage" out of AL. he deals in all F-body parts and will ship to Germany. Then take the car to the craft shop and do it yourself. What's happened to you and others is why I do everything myself, I don't trust but a handful of people to work on my car and all but 1 is stateside. Yes these cars are $$$$$$ to work on, parts for my 73 are CHEAPER by far!! Good Luck and I hope you get it straight.

I just don't want to make things worse- that is why I don't attempt fixing it anymore. I tried once, and just made things worse, so until I go to school to learn how to build performance engines (1 year from now), I am not going to try it myself. At least I have some comfort in knowing that they are pretty knowledgeable.

Jack, we did a pretty good job on the clutch the other day I think. All things considering.

If you have a real good manual, it will help out quite a bit. With an auto, there are some special tools that are needed, but my very complete manual tells you how to make them or how to do it without the special tools. (Took me an extra couple of hours.) I don't know just what is needed with a M6. Look at the worst case scenario, if you mess it up beyond repair, you're still at the same place you're at now. You just wasted some time, but gained some knowledge. If it works out good, you saved yourself $$$ and gained the satisfaction that you did it all yourself.
Just find a factory manual for the tranny and you should be good to go. Good luck.

Ahh Jack, quit being a baby. Let's take that thing to Kapaun and rip it apart, rebuild it and slap it back in. I'll help you out. Just give me a time. We can get that thing running like its supposed to.

Jack, order you a tranny from BGAS and sell me your old one as is (I'm looking for one to go behind my 455ci in my 73 bird). As for not knowing how to fix something the "right way", a good manual and someone you trust helping you always seems to work well!! Like Roy said, If it is still down when I get back I'd be happy to come and help out!! I just hate to see money wasted when you don't have too. remember the Nike saying "Just Do It!!"

I like Val's option if you don't tear it down yourself Jack. It'll help defray some of the cost associated w/ purchasing the new one. Exactly what happened to the tranny anyways and what kind of price was mentioned?

Well, I said it has already been rebuilt. I just don't want to break anything again, even if I can fix it myself. Broken parts = wasted money in my opinion. It's running damn good, and I want to keep it that way. It better be for as much as I've spent on it recently.

Jack I didn't know it was rebuilt already. What it cost you? I understand your situation that's for sure.
Yeah I've Johnny's car I was there for the whole repainting process. Those wheels make that car no bones about it. I was skeptical of the kit mainly because I've never seen on in person but w/ that paint job and those wheels that chit's nucking futs! I wanna set of FM's now just looking at those. They are a work of art and timless.

He's a guy with a badass Calloway Camaro Z28, with some Fikse FM5s that I was supposed to buy when I got back from Kosovo 2 years ago. He's got 11s in the back, good for 315s. The car is hugger orange, and it looks kickass. It looks like something out of a magazine. Now he's having engine work done. I'm glad I don't have HIS bill!

I hear you! D@mn, the tire prices even for my wheels with the 255s in the rear are pretty hefty already ... don't know if I should run this summer with them (expected to have to change them last year, but hardly drove any, so ...), or replace them ... oh well ... guess I'll just see to it that I even get to drive out of the garage some time soon first
