Brake Horse Power, and Garry and Mike are both right. :)

That is just another way of saying to the wheels.

Mike I should of clarified it a little more .
You had the BHP portion correct . It is where and how it is meaured that was not quite correct.

BHP is measured the same whether in europe or in the us. It ismeasured off the crank with a water brake dyno. Now there are two governing standards fro measuring BHP. SAE (society of automotive engineers) and DIN (deutsche Institut fur Normung) This where you get the two power differences.

Ok, so how much difference is there in the rating? Can't be much.

Well at the least 400 @ the wheel. But w/ it being rebuilt I'm dead certain it's closer to 450+ w/ alot more torque. I just want one pass down bitburg w/ a 11 sec timeslip. Don't care if it's high or mid 11's as long as it's 11's. I'll freak if I bust 120mph trap which it's very capable of doing if I can just get out the hole and that's w/ street tires.

Make sure we do it together John, so we can cut the cost of the shipping. I'm going to Northwestern France next month, so by the time I get back, in the middle of May, I should have plenty of money to make up for the dough spent on the rear.

I can answer that- he's running 3.23s right now. I don't know what he's wanting to replace them with, though.

Damn if he put 373 in that rear he will do a lot better in the 1/4. If he does go with a 373 or higher it will feel like a whole nother car.

Yeah, if he ran a 12.8X, just imagine what he would run with 3.73s or higher? I think he just likes to have the top end gearing.

i agree i think he likes the wind at 200mph. If i go with a 9 inch in my car i am going to get 2 center pieces one with 323 gears and one with 373 . So when I get back to germany i can have me some topend. of sourse i will have to change out my front struts for some adjustables. 90/10 arent the funnest at top speeds.

Wow, 2 center sections would be awesome. One for the strip, and one for the street.. They cost way too much for our cars, though, for me to do that!

It wont cost too much for me to do there is 9 inches every where here. i am considering getting one for around 100 dollars out of a f100 truck then taking it to a race car chassy builder here in fayetteville. he said for 300 dollars he will convert it for my car. this guy builds chassys for 8 sec cars and is known all over the east coast. then all i do is go and pick up another center from my friend for about 100 dollars and it is newly rebuilt.

Hmmm Jack. 12.4.....12.4 I can get in the 11's w/ that gear no question. It's just whether the driver (me) can do it. Damn sure gonna try this yr. Dude you going to France again? How the hell does the Army pull that off for you? Seems like you go at least 2 times a yr! If I do get a rear it'll be w/ 3.73's. I'll keep that in mind if I buy one Jack but that sucker would have to break between now and then.

You can just order it for me while I'm gone, so all I have to do when I get back is put it in! ;)
