Well, I went and had my friends go pick it up from the parents house finally, With the hope of getting it running right and fixin the tranny so I could take it to Vegas to race it. Then ship it over here. Well, I knew it had a few problems, but jesus!
The main problem was that the builder did not hook any of the vacumm lines up correctly, and most importantly left of the one for the FPR. Vacumm diagram is on the damn fan shroud! Meaning the injectors were getting way to much fuel, and drenching the pistons. Which in turn flooded the oil(about a quart). Leading to bearing rot and mucho metal in the filter. Pics below...

Other problems.....
Possible crank damage
Possible rod knock
Possible front seal leak
Amongst a ton of other little stuff.
Talks are on-going with the builder to see if he will stand by his work, but it doesn't look good. He is avoiding my calls. So, Along with the $2K in labor, some of my $2.5K of parts might be bad and down the drain. Lovin it. Wish me luck.

Man that is heart breaking. One other thing left out though is you definetly have to get new rings due to cylinder wash. It really makes me wonder whether these people who call themselves race engine builders etc really have a clue to overlook something so small.
Man I hope you get that situation resolved because that is unacceptable but we all know how that goes.........

Why is it every workshop seems to mess up cars they get their hands on?

Thank goodness the supercharger is self contained, or I would have to rebuild that too. Correct on the ring wash.
It does suck, and being 8K miles away doesn't help either. Still can't get ahold of the asshole, but I'm working on it. Thanks,
Mav

Nothing a couple friends with baseball bats couldn't take care of, is it?

Why do you say that Roy? It's a simple case of cause and effect. Works in court all the time.
It was a builder in Elk City, OK.

I don't think I will ever let another person (other than a friend) touch my car again. I have had the worst luck with taking the Z to these places. I will get a manual, and I will take my time, save money and make sure it is done right! People just don't care about other people's cars!

Matt Beckham at Beckham Auto Machine. My folks live there, and my Dad can be quite mean.

i am not for sure but I don't think he has ever had a good reputation. My dad would take stuff up to woodward to a old racing buddy of his but they didn't ever put stuff together for us we just had them for machine work.
