2F2F? I broke down and borrowed the dvd since it was free. Man oh man I'm so blind right now I can barely see the monitor as I'm typing this. LOL! That movie was too hilarous. Tyrese was funny though I'll give em' that. But the rest of the flick was corny.

I got go now and make an appt to get my eyes checked now.

All of you have just attained a new level of GAYNESS!

How about the R34 Skyline GTR that he just "happens" to see all dirty and "He said POOP" in the back of a used car lot. Those are worth $100,000 or more in the states. I guess the desert is different.

I've seen the movie also hesitant on admiting that but I did. I thought the movie pretty much blew big meat chunks. The movie just hypes up the ricer crowd into thinking there cars are quiker. I'm pretty sure the stang and the vette would have eaten those ricers but they destroyed them. And I really liked it when they cheated to win those to cars on the pink slip run sucked sucked sucked sucked sucked sucked sucked sucked. Those of you still in germany are going to be pretty suprised when you get back, there are more ricers running around now than before.

Most ricers don't have near the work done to their cars as those in the movie. You'd be pretty naive to believe that our cars are so far superior to imports. Sure we have more power out of the box usually, but the aftermarket for those cars far exceeds anything we'll ever see. Start with a lighter car, and you already have an advantage.

Sure- the movie might have blown some things out of proportion, but the fact is that if you have money, you can make your car fast! The people in those movies obviously had money, 'cause they put down 35 large just for a one night's race! Think about that. I'm not condoning nor condemning imports, but let's be realistic.

Guess we're having the September 1on1 event in Bitburg under the "US Muscle vs. Import" theme ... guess some stock F/Fox-Bodies are no match for a couple of them guys ... anyway, going to be fun ...

That ought to be interesting. I've heard a couple of them running turbos, and they sound pretty badass. I can just hear their blow-off valves..

well if they were so great in the movie they wouldn't have had to cheat to beat the 8s. I don't hate them but lets face it you give me 30k and a ricer the same and I'll be faster than him in every aspect track and road course. They may be a lighter cars but most of them have 4 less cylinders. With money anything can be fast even a geo metro 3cyl. I just disagree with the movie all together because it has these frigen retards driving crazy because they think a muffler increases 200hp. I used to cruise around fayetville on fridays and you wouldn't believe how pissed they get when you beat them. I know you can have imature racers in all scenes but the majority of my problems came from them even at the track, just my .2cents :) I still think the movie sucked.

I know EXACTLY what you're saying Ryan, because the majority of the ricers around here are only running coffee can-style exhausts, and they think that makes them run 12s in the 1/4. In the real import scene, however, those people have big $$$ and they prefer imports, so they're not afraid to invest the same kind of time and money some of the people in our crowd do. Those are the people the movie is portraying. It's just that every person with a car similar to the ones in the movie thinks that he/she is the baddest thing on the scene. That's ok though, 'cause we'll be sure to give them plenty of REALITY CHECKS! ;) ;) ;)

Now you're exaggerating. The fart can exhaust is only worth 20 hp per cylinder. So it would only add 200 on a V10. Just want everyone to be well informed so we can pick or "battles" better.
On the subject of those movies, just how may times did the Charger upshift in the first movie? I didn't know that the car had 6 speeds. (looked like a 4-gear from underneath) Besides, that was a looooooong 1/4 mile. Most cars can do it in under 27 seconds.

Yes, and we all know the problem when we´re running the quartermile (in approx 2mins) and the laptop tells us "danger to manifold" its not that easy to reprogram the nitrous injection at 140mph with 3 cars very close, especially when the car´s floor starts to braeke cause of to much power in our $80.000 Eclipse...
That movie is so full of BS...

I haven't seen the 2nd one yet. I am willing just to see the "real" cars in it.

Chris, that manifold runs under the floor plan. When it went, it took that floor pan with it.

And on the laptop, he was just sending an email to is mom saying that he was "fast and furious".

The truth is, ask 10 ricers and I'll put money on it that at least 7will say its one of the greatest movies of all.

Sad but true. Then again, it's more like 8 out of 10. :(
