Glad to hear you didn't get any bad surprises ... hope you get it up and running soon!

 Sorry, that sucks the big one. :x I'd be filling up my trunk with all of those "spare parts" lying around the shop.
I sure hope that he doesn't expect to get paid. If anything, he should at least pay you.

You need to post this on Mighty Mustangs, to show them that we're really not joking when we say he's a dirtbag!

I will start my anti-Tony tour after I get my car running. I might be looking all over the shop for my heads, so if you all need anything let me know, I'll keep an eye out.

This is a pic of the car, how I found it Saturday. Image

I got an extention on my leave, so I will be here for the May race. I will not be racing, but will try to be there. I got to see ya'll one last time.

Rob

Didn't I say I wouldn't be surprised it was still on the trailer or something to that effect? That's phuckin ridiculous. I told Naz about them last month and advised him to tell his crew. They obviously wanna learn the hard way. I didn't mention though that I'd bet my last dollar that Tony would shoot that BS sales pitch to him about OSL though and use them the way they tried to use us.

I posted this over there. They went there and saw Dave's car, just like in the pic, and I think they realize now!

Who is Dave? What's up with his car? Or did you mean Rob?
Wife used to know Tony back in '95-'96. He was a good guy, just forgetful and got more "work" than he could handle. What's the story now?

that "more work than he could handle" was at least part (if not all) of his problem in '02 from what I could tell ... and the guys he kept hiring were not worth much (I recon you get what you pay for ;)). He ordered some parts for me once, though changed the order from what I had intended ... didn't leave my car there for putting them on, but got it on with me there and helping ... he did a good job there, and worked pretty professionally ... on the 79's tranny, I got back a different tranny than I dropped off, don't know what happened there, but it was a serviced tranny none the less ...

Well, looks like I won't get it running after all. Shipping it non-op. "Non-op" you say? Yep, and with TransCar not shipping non-op cars, you all think I am made of $ then, right. Well, found out from Transportation that if your car is non-op then you have to get it shipped by a commercial shipper. Then when you pay them, you take your receipt to Transportation and they give you a refund up to the cost to ship it to the pickup point that is closest to your new duty station... Dallas $2075. So you can read into this if you like, and maybe if at the last minute your car is deadlined... you won't have those TransCar guys scratching up and hotdogging your cars.

Anyway, I am shipping the car on Thursday, with as much as Chris and I can get on there by then in Coburg. Although Tony, Ed and Del probably would have worked with me to get it running, I think that making a decision to ship it non-op and get it home was the best while on leave for just another 8 days.

Rob

Yup, i think also it was just the right decision.
All those expensive parts shouldn´t be perhaps trashed by a too quick build up - thats just not worth it.

BTW please also notice that some things on the mustang board have been set straight, that whole drama here was getting a bit blown out of proportion - but thats just my opinion.
Ed, Del and me dropped it off at "my" workshop yesterday night,
those guys drove 600+k that night to help us out - for free.
I don´t know what happend in the past, i don´t know Tony or his former mechanics at all, but that was just great - so "Thanks!", if you read that.

And, Rob, dropping of the car would have been a bit easier if you would have given me the damn keys!
But that´s nothing a good tow truck and floor jack couldn´t have fixed...hehehe.

RT1 2075?! I remember talking to them and they said to ship INOP would cost 250 through the gov't. They didn't mention shipping it commercial and then going through what you just wrote. I'll be shippin my private regardless and INOP :D. Not taking any chances w/ anyone.

Sorry if I didn't cover that well. I called the place in Schweinfurt and they said they don't ship Non-op vehicles anymore. And about the $2075, that is the max that they will re-emburse you after you pay. It costs more to ship to Cali, I didn't get the price, but if you were to say you wanted it shipped to Cali anyway, that would give you more $ to play with, to find a better shipper or something.

Well, he didn't give me a time limit. I think that as long as you put in the forms when you go to Trans the first time, saying that you need to ship a POV then it is good until you do. Besides there are alot of exceptions to policies if you talk to the right people.

But yes, You Were Right. Ja, Ja
