"would have stuck with the camaro" LOL They don't even compare man! That truck would drive me to the moon if I asked it...
Thanks Silas. I am sure you would all think differently if you actually owned one. Especially when everyone breaks their neck to look at you everywhere you go...

Actually, I can honestly say that if I had a choice of the two, I'd take the SS man. I know they're nice, but too big for my taste. Enjoy it!

You guys have been overseas TOO LONG. You have no idea what it means to own one of these stateside. I know this is a camaro board but damn, how can you even compare the two. LOL
P.S. I can always buy another camaro, they are a dime a dozen!

I know they're nice Mike, but not everyone wants to drive around a huge $50K+ Cadillac. I honestly would have bought a special edition Corvette for that price! By no means am I knocking your decision, but instead I am speaking my opinion! Camaros are a dime a dozen, but that's why you make it stand out from the crowd! There are already at least 10 Escalades in the KMC..

Keep your miserable lonely life to yourself and let me enjoy my new ride!

Ok Mike, I'll tell you what you want to hear: You made the best decision ever man, and you are a pimpin' fool now. I highly envy you, and I am so jealous. I wish I could buy a $50K+ Cadillac Escalade. Man you are so lucky.
Seriously though, I'm sorry if you think that I am lonely, but you are sadly mistaken! Just because I have over 6000 posts doesn't mean I don't have a life. I type over 50 words a minute, so that could seriously have something to do with it.

So in other words what you are saying Jack is that you have a life you just get everything done to quick or just not enough to do during that life. LOL

I can't help it if I sit in front of a computer all day. Things will be quite different this time next year, but for now, I'll just type away!

Damn! I thought GM had made an announcement to relaunch the Camaro. Mind you, if they had and that's what it looked like, why would I not be surprised - "Camaro - the new rugged 4x4 from Chevrolet". LOL

For a minute there I thought we were gonna have clash of the titans. Brings back memories.
There will be a 5th Gen. Details are being ironed out. It'll just be another 4-5 yrs before it comes out though. I can wait......it'll be a nice retirement gift to myself along w/ the 99 Porsche 911 TT.

darookie,
Nice investment!! I hear you about the difference, that's why the wife will get the new "truck" next. There's no way I could get rid of my Firechicken, it's a keeper no matter if they're a dime a dozen, but this one is mine, smae goes for my 73 Firechicken. So I will have to wait for the SRT10 V10 6 SPEED 500hp 525TQ until my son turns 16. Enjoy your new ride!!!!!!

Jack,
Glad you have a sense of humor! That was the answer I was looking for! No hard feelings, conflict in groups is encouraged:) I am just out of the camaro business for a while. Since I plan to be independently wealthy I am on a whole nother level. As soon as I get out of the military I will be swimming in money between me and the wifey (more than likely). I am into top dollar items from here on out, AMG, Porsche, or Viper may be next for me and the wifey will drive the Escalade until we are tired of that.
P.S. FYI, I am pimpin...LOL
Firechicken,
I hear you man but I am serious when I say I am glad it is off my shoulders! That SRT is sweet, hope you get it!

Wanted to add one more thing...What are your guys ultimate goals with your rides? To run 7's in the quarter? To me it is just like a grey hound catching the rabbit aroud the track, once you meet your goal what else is there? At what point do you say I have spent too much damn money on this thing and for what? There is no street racing in the streets stateside anymore, you go to jail for that $hit now. So the only thing left is the drag? I went one time...

I hear what you're saying Mike, and yes I do have a sense of humor, but it is so hard to really know when someone is being serious or sarcastic by just reading responses.
Anyway, my plans with my car are to turn it into a real head turner. I don't really plan on racing it anymore, because like you, I have spent way too much money on it. I want to do a few more things to it, but I don't want to pay for any more repairs. I might sell it before I leave, since I have a potential buyer, but I want to buy an older one when I get stateside if I do. I'd love to have a '69 SS, or even a '67-'68. I just love the looks of the 1st gens. I'm getting out next year, so that's another reason why I'm not gonna be racing this year. I'm gonna find a house when I get out, and then it's off to school to learn everything about an engine that $32,000 and countless hours of classroom studies can teach you! I will eventually be opening up my own shop in the central Florida area.
