Guess you were lucky with the weather ... was pretty crappy here yesterday ...
Looks like they finally keep the spectators a couple meters away from the track ...
But the tree still looks like the POS they had in April - did they have timing?

Yes they had timing. It might not have been the most accurate timing equipment in the world, but I don't really think anyone cared!

How's that? Got some slips?
Did they actually use lightbarriers at the tree? I noticed it still is the one with only a stage light (which they hand-operated before ...)

Garry, the timing equipment was not that important for the people there. It was a much more relaxed, fun environment. There were no time slips. People were there just to have fun- not to brag about who had the fastest car. Everyone was really cool, and our cars were by far the stars of the show. Especially Bruce's, John's and Mike's!

I was just wondering, as they had announced that the much-requested system would be there this weekend ... oh well ...

The timing equipment was there, but no time slips, and no MPH.

Did you ever doubt that? I thought you had something going on.

Awesome I bet 800-1000 cars. Track was concrete going up hill and very bumpy. Timing equipment was kinda like a big stopwatch. you could take pictures of it but no hard copy that track vas very slippery but everyone had a great time.

German Race Wars ROCKED!!!!! it is without a doubt one of the best events ever... and it wasn't just because I RACED THE FIREHAWK... thats right guys Hawk let ME race his car... I damn near SH*T myself when the nos kicked in but what a rush... I won't tell you what times I got but lets just say that Susan was driving Tim's Mustang, a 12 second car and she is walking around right now with her head held high... But I kicked her but off the line... so lets just leave it at that... LOL Oh and for some of you back yard mechanics WHAT NOT TO DO WHILE FIXING YOUR CAR!!!!
IF YOU THINK YOUR CAR IS SH*T,,,USING A TOILET BRUSH PROBABLY WON'T FIX THE PROBLEM,,, for more information of this subject check with Chris, I think he wrote the manual on this one...
P.S. Just in case you forgot I LINDA GOT TO DRIVE HAWKS CAR DOWN THE TRACK...

Linda wasn't kidding when she said that Race Wars rocks. It was awesome. It was like street racing in a controlled area with a little organization. The lights sucked, the timers were totally inaccurate, the track was rough as hell, but it was a lot of fun. The weather was terrible, cold as a witches t*t and windy, especially on Saturday. WHERE IS OUR SUMMER????? Ran once with my top down and Jack as a passenger (would have done more but it was too cold.). A TV crew from a station in Erfurt was there and took a lot of video of all of us, including taping a race between Hawk and I (He gave me a pretty good head start). The crowd loved all of our cars and Nick's car was a total hit, especially after Hawk laid one of his nitrous bottles in the back. The crowd formed instantly. Anyway, we'll definitely go back. I highly recommend it.
I'll post some more pics, hopefully tomorrow.

Dangit Linda, you sound like a ricer! It's nitrous, not NOS. NOS is a brand. So how was Sunday? Any better than Saturday?

Yep it was awesome. They didn't care who won actually. 21 sec cars to 11 sec car's it didn't matter to them. The people there were really nice to us and loved the cars. Hell if all of us would've entered the Show and Shine there is no doubt we all would've placed and walked away with trophies. IT's worth the drive. Hope it's warmer next time because it will really be off the chain. I'll be bringing my other tires and having a field day w/ the burnouts!
You missed a great time.
