Well, Linda got some bad news today. Had to stop by the cop shop and identify someone in a picture. It was her!!! The camera got her going 104 in a 60. Looks like she will be walking for a month!!! She is not happy about it either. They told her to expect her letter within two weeks. She had to take the Camaro out today and put the top down while she can. Looks like I may have a depressed wife on my hands before long.

ouch
well she can pick the time (in a certain window) so just tell her to go on vacation, won't apply in the states or as alternative, she don't need it for skiing.

I've heard that if you get a "International liscense", you can avoid the walking part.
Not too sure about it

Don't count on it - AFAIK, if they pull your licence and catch you driving, you're in for driving w/o licence ...

it was in Munich and it was dark so you couldn't see the stup plate hiding between the trees...
Normally she doesn't drive more than 20 over the limit.

Garry or Silke, you seem to know the rules here, can I pick my time they take my license??? if so I will take it in the winter... I would also like to pick the time I pay my 100 Euros plus administration fees, but I know that isn't going to happen...
Also at the cop shop I asked the question if could drive on my international license or my canadian license and they said if I got caught I would walk for the remainder of the time I was in Germany, no exeptions.
Hawk, if you WANT me to drive your car again it better be sooooon!!!

bad for mobility yes, the billfold no until Jerry told me that since I don't work and he has to pay for it, he gets to spend more money on his car,,, where is the fairness in that???

According to § 25 Abs. 2a Satz 1 StVG on your first suspension within 2 years you can select the beginning of the suspension within 4 months of the official ruling ... so, when you get it in written that you need to turn in your license (which most likely won't be before maybe beginning of August), you'd have until end of November to actually turn it in ...
Please note, I do not know if this applies to non-german nationals ...

Thanks for the info Garry. If that is the case it will be great as I put my truck up along with the Camaro in the winter and we are down to one car. If not I guess I will just have to suck it up and take the bus to the train if I want to go anywhere as I am guilty and I knew I was going to get nailed since Nick told me there was a camera, but I was in a hurry to get home...

Sorry Linda- that really sucks. We all speed sometimes, but some of us are less fortunate than others, and get caught.

hm... but then a coworker (US) got caught with a gov vehicle in a 60 zone (construction area) coming down A62 baumholder with speeding
~ 160km/h and the same week she got flashed on Ramstein AB going to fast in the housing area... and she claimed to be single mother of two teenagers (16, 17) and needs the license to go to work (crying) and bring her kids to school (can't they take the bus?) and she has no money
(only a GS-11), and also she is a female minority in a foreign country, however, she got away with just paying a small fee.
so Linda, where is them watery eyedrops? and make sure you are dressed pretty and innocent sexy

... and the judge will ask, "so you were driving 44 over in what car?" - there goes the "no money" argument ...
