I just had the same problem hawk, my carrier bearings got chewed up. I know your a expert mechanic but if your need any advice just ask.

Buce if your 9 was assembled with a crush sleeve on the drive pinion that is a real probable chance thats the problem. Does it do it on coast , accel, steady state , or all the time?

accel and decel only can it be fixed with out replacing the gears???
