Hi Roy, glad you liked it ... would have been nice to see you over on the other side before you had to leave again ...
We had about 575 runs on Saturday and Sunday, even with minor technical delays Sat and the usual delays throughout the elemination runs ... but great weather and (mostly) great people there ...

Yes, it was busy as hell at Bitburg....there was no where to park....I found one 'Maro to park next to when I went to the pits. It was beetle mania there this time around....even about 10 vans....there was one beetle that was running mid high 10s. Sunday was hot, and was beetles draggin the rest of the day after the street cars were done...Some nice older generation Firebirds and 'Maros showed from Mannheim too.

I finally got into the 13's (barely!), but I couldn't hang the whole day. I got off work at 0300 that morning. Sitting in the line to race was killing me. Only made 3 runs, beat two Hondas and lost to the guy in the blue SS with the quad tip loudmouth. There was a silver Z/28 with the same exhaust, but with a cam too. They both sounded great!

Thanks for the compliment. The silver one is mine. Did we pass each other on the road? The Blue SS that you raced is a friend of mine from Hanau. He broke third gear on his last run. We were both knocking on the 12 second door. Too many cars there. I only got four runs and they lost my last and hopefully not by 12 second timeslip. There is another race at Eisenach this weekend.

Just come by next time and I'll re-print it ... apart from that - you were less than a tenth from the 12, using the NHRA correction factors (which start at 1200ft, Bitburg is ~1100) would put you around 12.95 ... plus, most cars were running slower too due to the temperature ...

@ Jack. I ran a 13.09@104 No 12 second time slip this time. I still don't have my air lid, computer, or y-pipe. Headers are sitting in my living room. I call TSP last night and Matt told me they shipped over two weeks ago. I hope they come in today. I want the damn 12. I heard that you got escorted off the car show site this weekend. Is that true?

SRZ,
If you are refering to my 95 Camaro, I already sold it. I am now the proud owner of a 2002 Camaro. I have to say that I love this car. It ran a faster time stock than my modded up 95. It was a convertible, automatic though. It ran a 13.60.

Not all the Germans have a RED ROCKET with over 400 hp. I saw Mike yesterday at the craftshop and he told me the story. Was probably fun while it lasted. I heard you got to drive a new Z06. That alone would be worth it to me. BTW, are you going to race wars this weekend?

Actually it was a 50th anniversary convertible. Still badass though. That car is just on a totally different level.
I want to go to RaceWars, but my wife sort of wants to spend some time with me. She misses the Jack.

I told you what you're NOT doing!
I could have sworn I saw Linda in a 50th yesterday!

Did you see a gunmetal convertible Firebird parked next to you...? if so that was me - and kitty cornor the vans? People were taking photos of our cars like mad crazy....one guy got alittle too close to mine and tripped my alarm lol....
Also, if that was yours....man I wish I would have seen ya....I had an SLP airlid in my TRUNK at the time....won't fit on mine! So I need to get rid of it!
