Oh yeah, just you wait. It's on it's way right now, as we speak! Now, who wants to bet how long it takes to blow this piece of crap centerforce I have??? For those who haven't talked to me recently, I'm talking about a 150 shot NO2. I also have a strut tower brace (CHEAP) coming.

:-ok: That is a mighty big blast of power to start with. Your talking about a 50% hp gain!!!

Hopefully you wont soon be telling us how much it costs to have forged pistons shipped and installed, but instead how inconvient it is to drive to Manheim every week to get some more boost in a bottle.

Congrats
Rob

You dont have a hair on your @$$ if you dont shoot all 150hp worth of juice in it the first shot. Its the proper way to devirginize a NO2 system. ;) Congrats!

Rob, where do you get all those crazy smilies? I need a cool one.

Jeff

Rob you got the characters. Dave be careful speed cost money one way or the other. you might be able to shut me up if you can shift.LOL PS rev limiters are bad on sniffing engines.

This kit has the window switch and every other possible safety item that you can get. I'm thinking the only crying I will do is after it breaks my clutch in to about 10 pieces! You guys remember NO2 is only used 1% of the time. Right!!

This is far from a install and forget. NO2 might only be on 1% of the time, but the stuff you need to run it, is on 100% of the time. Plugs need checked very regular, solonoids stick open, Injectors go bad faster (a no bs bad thing)

If this is the terminator kit, it doesnt have every safety device. He has some, but far from all, espicially the expensive ones.

NO2 is a power adder like any other, and it is harder on the motor than any other also. That intial hit of hp and tq will be on like a light switch. There is no boost to build.

Any power adder you have just magnifies any possible problem to a factor of a zillion. Keep in mind that 50hp is about 1 CR point, so 150 would be 3. You'll be running a 13.8:1 CR [b]stock[/b} bottom end LT1 with no timing retard each time you tickle the button.

I wouldnt dream of discouraging anyone, cuz I think the gas is a good thing, but like any addictive substance is regularly abused. When this kit hits your doorstep, be prepared for univeral instructions at best, and a mile of wires/fuses/relays/bolts/brackets/tubing.....

Welcome to the viscious cycle. And like the many wise men that have used NO2 forever. "If you are unwilling, or unable to buy a new motor, you shouldnt be messing with the bottle".

What was I thinking trying to play a gearhead. Ok, it doesn't have ALL the safeties but it does have more than any other system I have seen. The window switch, purge kit, and spark plugs are probably the most important (please forgive my ignorance if there are ANY more important than the window switch). If you are talking about those expensive controlers that vary the horsepower as rpms increase, I think I can figure something out without it. I was already planing on buying a controller with adjustable retard and Tony is working on a custom grind built for NO2. I'm not putting this thing on without the help of Tony, and probably not until I have the cam. The kit comes with a nitrous preasure guage, fuel preasure safety switch, so I need a fuel preasure guage.

I'm not trying to doubt your knowledge but I DO have very knowledgeable people helping.

blowing up the engine.....hmmmm....383

Sounds like fun, just remember once you are high it is addictive and to get off you must go through withdrawl and if the bottle is empty and the hawk is around you will have to just suck it up, because I will be all motor all the time. You have the abusive nature I seen you drive.LOL

You will get the bigest bang for your buck. I just hope the bang is not in the motor. Tony will square you away 12's are just flick of the switch away.

Even after you get your heads you can still spray it!! Maybe just re-jet it to like 50 HP or so, just enough to help through the mid and top end. Also make sure you get a good igintion kit now too. NO2 like to blow out a weak spark just like a turbo or supercharger would. And that could spell DOOM, or 383 depending how you look at it. :)

First of all, sorry I forgot to end the bold letters. I wasnt trying to insult you, and I have first hand knowledge of what the kit comes with (and lacks) because I have the same one. The Hobbs switch, NO2 filter, micro switch, blowdown tube and window (even though it is not as KISS certified as a MSD window) are part of the pie. A purge is a performance enhancer not safety item. A progressive controller is a $500+ waste IMHO if you are only running a single stage. A cam ground for NO2 is great, if you use the bottle all the time, but once again there is no safety in a cam.
The kit doesnt come with a bottle heater (of some type) which you will need, you have to keep the psi between 900-1200 (performance not safety). Fuel injectors and inline fuel pump wouldnt be a bad idea (24# SVO or Accel). I know you have 24#'ers stock, but they have tolerance issues according to people in the know. You should also seriously consider a MSD Digital 6 controller. It offers alot of sparking power, and adjustable timing retard as well as 2 soft touch rev limiters. I would much rather have my rev limiter cutting spark than fuel!!!

I'm sure Tony is a very knowledgeable person and has probably forgot more than I will ever learn, but in the end you have to pay for the parts and car.

One way to add fuel cheap, would be a adj. fuel press. regulator. Just bump up the pressure a couple of lbs at the track, and put it back to normal when your finished running the NO2 for a while. By the way ROB do you think he should get a igintion kit?? Cause I would have never thought of that myself. ;)

This will work if he bumps it up only when running, but the newer LT1's (read 94 and up) will eventually unlearn this. I cant quote anything right now, cuz I forgot where I got this info, but it was from a "smart" guy/article.

Definatelly!!!!!!!! he has a better coil than I do (stock) but any aftermarket controller is a plus. Besides the ones now 'a' days do amazing things, and like you said, Nitrous will blow a weak spark with a large gap out like a birthday candle.

The digital 6 was next on my list. The kit I bought was the full fledge package that is supposed to come with the bottle heater. If it doesn't, it's going back because the add says it comes with the package. The kit is a wet kit, so the injectors could probably use a kick. I think the regulator like Randy says is a good bet. Even though I am verry happy to have this kit coming, it will be a while before everything is complete. Randy is the one who changed my mind about nitrous in the first place. I know its good to know all you can but jeez. Everyone I tell says that same cheezy line "how long is that engine going to last?" Isi or is it not completely safe AS LONG AS you have good fuel preasure? I plan on getting a fuel preasure guage to put in a pod right next to the nitro guage.

Rob, I was being sarcastic. I already told Dave exactly what you said. Another plus you have going for you Dave is that LT1's are very rich from the factory. (richer than normal) So you shouldent have issues with fuel problems if you dident get the regulator.

Rob that video shows exactly what using to much nitroes can do. I'm not a big fan of nos, However if I where to use it I would make sure my engine was as bullet proof as it could get. Or just use a very small dose of the stuff.

Dave there is no such thing as safe quick horsepower. Take your time and by all the stuff needed. It's a good Idea to get nos if that's your bag of tricks. But think of all the people you've heard of getting the big bang (in there engine bay) When trying to get horsepower quick and cheap.

Yup, my feelings also...you're playing with the Devil IMHO. NOS is harder on yer car than anything , and more dangerous too.

FWIW, I have a friend that is selling a Jacobs Nitrous Mastermind for $150.00 if anyone is interested.
