So, when it will be dry on Sunday I will go to the Nuerburgring.
Ben already said, that he would come.
Anybody else?

I plan on being there too.
The mission: to break the 8min 30sec barrier. I just hope those p.i.t.a. (slow) bikers for once stay at home and not spoil the day for everybody else.

When you go to the zoo, they usually keep the monkeys on an island to prevent them from being a nuisance to everybody. Guess that's why the Brits are known as "island apes".

The official website of the Nuerburgring is not very userfriendly and I am not clear: Do I have to register before I can go there this Sunday?
I guess, it will be very crowded, when the weather is nice.

No, you just turn up. You buy a ticket(s) from the vending machine (at the start), stick it in the gate and you are on the track.

I may stop by on my way down from north, I just don't know how late it is going to be.

Hi folks,
now it is Saturday 18th of September and I will go to the Nuerburgring now.
I will stay one night in a guesthouse:
Adresse
Privatzimmer Poll
Auf dem Zaun 12
53518 Wimbach
Tel: 02691 7449 , Business No.: 2910
Fax: 02691 8309
This way I can use the sunny weather on Saturday afternoon. The Ring will be open from 2pm to 7:30pm. I will probably be there at 4pm.
On Sunday morning I will be there around 10am.
BenZ28 will come between 11-12am, if the weather is fine.
We will meet at the restaurant on the entrance.
I hope some more Fbodies will come.
You can easily spot my red Z28 with 19in wheels.
I will leave my picture on the dash. If ist warm enough I will wear my KMFDM T-Shirt.
Sorry, I got no mobile.

Got up this morning to good weather in Stuttgart. As soon as I was ready to leave for the "Ring" it started to rain!!!! Called the "Ring" and they said the weather sucked there too.

Iswear it makes it own weather up there . Ive been on places where there was fog then move in to sunshine and then rain , all on the same lap. Crazy sometime up there.
Also heard there is a video camera ban on the track while driving. Is that true.

I came too late for the Ring on Saturday, because I got stuck in a traffic jam and lost two hours. When I arrived at 6pm an accident happened and they did not reopen.
Spent the night in a boring guesthouse, to have some three laps on Sunday morning, the road still damp. Rear end had its own mind, so I had to be careful. Not familiar with the Ring, everybody overtook, but that is okay for the first time.
I met an English guy called Phil. He gave me a ride in his Subaru Impreza: It was like rollercoaster and bungee jumping at the same time.
I did not feel sick, it was closer to a heart attack. Needed half an hour to recover.
Met BenZ28 at noon and he showed me what an Fbody is capable of, when in the right hands. Was really good fun.
We have done a cruise too, hoping for some good fotos.
All together I have done six laps.
Lots of BMWs and Porsches, another Z28, LS1 parked all day in front of the restaurant and NO Corvettes. Lots of bikers too.
I think most drivers were British or Dutch.
It was a great day!!!!
BTW: Weather was splendid all day.

That's (unfortunately) true. You either have to have a passenger hold the camera after passing the gates or you have to mount a "lipstick" camera somewhere at the front of your car.
BTW: Weather was very nice yesterday...

So you can't have a camera mounted??? That is ridiculous. I could see it if you were holding it while driving, but if you have an actual mount for it??? Give me a break!

I recently got "caught" with a vid-camera and had to remove it (not enough to just switch it off). Repeat offenders will be banned from the track. Cameras are not banned outright, you just are not allowed to use them without paying a stiff "filming rights" fee. How much is the fee? Try something like Euro 1200 (per hour!!!!!!!)

Could be, but the Police don't stick guns in our faces, neither do we go to jail for speeding!!
